When did you feel like you didn’t want to travel any more? As in, what is the latest you felt you could go away?

OH and I are getting married in Aug. I’ll be 27w. It’s a low-key, no guests registry office affair, but I do want to surprise him with a few nights away afterwards. But will I feel up to travelling??? It’s going to be Aug!

And a few of my mum friends say that they felt a need to be close to home from 30-38w...

Just canvassing how others felt, I realise we’re all experiencing preg differently.

I’m low risk, been active and healthy so far (apart from awful nausea from 6-16w), I just don’t want our wedding day to be all just admin, you know? 😊

I think you'll definitely be ok. I was about 37 weeks before I wanted to be close to home at all and full term before I was too scared to do anything

I never felt the need to be close to home really with my first. As long as I had my notes with me and had easy access to a hospital I was happy. I even flew to Malaysia at 32 weeks for 2 weeks. I was very relaxed.

I'm only 16 weeks now but my SPD is horrendous so I don't think I would physically be able to travel too much further down the line. We have a weekend away for a wedding when I'm 26 weeks and that will probably be it for me.

After 36 weeks felt the need to be close to home... if only for the convenience of a familiar bathroom Grin Multiple trips in my pregnancies, 4hr flights would have been the longest - didn't try long haul, but under 30weeks would have probably been ok with it.

I’m 28 weeks now and would happily go on holiday if I could get the time off work :) BUT you need to check airline restrictions as many need fit to fly notes in later pregnancy

I never felt a need to be close to home.

Flew to Canada (West Coast) at 26 weeks and back at 29 weeks with dc1. Was unwell while I was there but the medical services were great - the GP apologised for not having an ultrasound machine!!

With dc2 we went to Barcelona when I was 32 weeks and the only trouble was I needed to pee so much we didn't go very far from the hotel.

I’m currently 30 weeks. Would have been fine travelling at 27 weeks. Am going away in the UK for a week at 35 weeks.

Same as most PP. Travelled quite happily throughout. Now I'm 39+1 and still feel relaxed about the whole thing.
