Please help I can't see my GP for weeks 🙄 and I don't want to call the midwife if I can avoid it, I'm just curious if I'm safe to treat thrush with the canestan cream in early pregnancy. (9 weeks)
I don't want to take the tablet, the cream to soothe the symptoms!! (Currently sat on an ice pack 😩)
It's so uncomfortable but I'm scared it might cause a miscarriage?

Poor you, OP. Yes, you can use the cream and the pessary, too. (Some doctors recommend using your fingers to insert the pessary instead of the applicator.) x

@Starfish83 thank you for coming back to me!!
Going to buy some cream now and hope it soothes the symptoms! H2B laughed when I started sitting on the icepack but it did soothe it for a little while 😂

No worries. I’m sure your husband’s humour is the supportive type? 😂😬 Hope you’re feeling better soon. x

I'm also suffering thrush. The NHS website actually says the gp and midwife may not treat thrush in the first trimester as some of the medications can harm the baby.

Dont come to mumsnet for medical advice that could have potentially fatal consequences. What works for some people may not work for you. That's why you're advised to contact your midwife or gp.

Good luck op x
