Do you need to get checked for any fall in third trimester?

Went flying off my birthing ball, landed on my right hand side. No pain or anything, just a sore elbow. Do I have to go in to be safe or is it not worth it? I hadn't even thought to go in until DH said we should.

Only if you've hit your abdomen/bump.

Landed on my whole upper right side mainly, so side of bump would of had some impact. No pain there though.

I can think of at least 3 falls I had off of bicycles in last 3 months of pregnancies... I didn't even consider getting checked, tbh. I was fine. I can't imagine getting checked if I thought I had just bumped my bump (sounds like is all you did). Hard bash to the bump I suppose is the threshold I'm looking for. Or any pain or bleeding, etc.

If you're rhesus negative then I'd be more inclined to get checked out, but otherwise I think go with your gut - if you didn't think it was bad enough to warrant getting checked then don't, just obviously keep an eye on baby's movements.

I spent a night in hospital for observation after a heavy fall. They would have scanned me if it hasn't been the weekend and no staff to do it.

Better safe than sorry is my motto.

I'd just have to check. I don't know if I could rest easily, even if, in my heart of hearts, I knew the baby would be fine. Ditto Queenbee: Better safe than sorry.

I would go get checked better to be safe. There is no safe stage when pregnant so i would go to the hospital.x

DStepM didn't get checked the day before her CS when she fell on her bump and had to go in for stitches to her nose. She thought it was odd but they obviously weren't concerned.

If you're concerned I'd go in but it doesn't sound like you are that much.

I'd first call midwife explain what happened. They might say dont worry about it. Or get checked

I would go to triage just to be on safe side. Most likely no issues, but there is a tiny risk of issues with placenta with falls or knocks in 3rd trimester.
