B&stard Stretchmarks :-(

I've religiously slathered my tummy and boobs with the Clarins Body Tonic (the one for pregnant women) every morning. Every, night, I slather my boobs and bump with the thickest moisturiser known to man and massage it in for what feels like hours.

I'm 29 weeks and have just found some little red marks on the underside of my bump. What else am I bloody well supposed to do! I don't want to end up with a tummy that looks like an ordnance survey map :-(

Each baby was smaller than the last but by the third the stretch marks were above my belly button!! Now I am a size ten but the stretch marks are the least of my worries - I have enough excess skin on my belly that I could make shoes for my children until they are 18. Doc says on surgery will make a difference - great.

I applied bio oil religiously during my 2nd preg, and it worked quite well..didnt get any new stretch marks on my belly, just the ones from first preg got worse...did a quiet celebration when examing my post partum form..however..when the sun finally came out last week I skipped off to put on a pair of shorts..only to look at my rear view in the mirror to find a huge stretch mark I hadnt even noticed on the back of my knee.

FFS!

Because I had excess fluid with my dd and the biggest bump imaginable, I ended up with literally hundreds of stretch marks, way up above my belly button and everything. I used stretch mark cream religiously throughout the pregnancy and didn't put on weight anywhere else so found it pretty depressing when I witnessed the mess that was my stomach after the delivery. Am over the shock and distress now (!) and 16 wks into my second pregnancy, I haven't used cream once as I really don't think it does any good whatsoever.

I religiously used special creams morning and night with both DSs and still got stretch marks. With DS1 I got most on my thighs and boobs and with DS2 they crept up my belly as far as my belly button. They are not too bad now they are all silvery and although I don't like them (who does?!) they were worth it for my sons.
Strangely enough my Mum used no creams and got them in exactly the same places - I think they are partly hereditary and if you are prone to them, no amount of cream will help!
