Why have my symptoms disappeared?

Morning all,

I’m 5 weeks pregnant and up until now, for the last week and half, my boobs have been growing, sore and hard. The beginning of this week they were borderline painful instead of just sore and I had to stop sleeping on my stomach because of them. However yesterday I noticed that they weren’t as sore for a few hours and then went back to normal and I’ve woken up this morning and they don’t really feel sore at all, to the point where I can lie on my stomach fine. If I really poke and prod them there is tenderness but nothing like I have had...
I’m really worried. I’ve had two miscarriages up until yet and this is an IVF pregnancy. I’ve never had disappearing symptoms before, my symptoms usually disappear gradually after I’ve started bleeding...

I have also noticed this morning I have more of a sicky feeling in the back of my throat that I woke up with. Now I’m not sure if that’s a positive sign re the pregnancy or anxiety! 😩

Breast pain doesn’t come on very reliably during an ivf pregnancy if you’re taking estradiol (it can sometimes reduce prolactin levels so breast development can be slow). You are also likely to get more cramping or even spotting if you take estradiol and progesterone (especially if heparin has been added to your protocol). Also, if you have also been taking prenatals for at least 3 months before the cycle, mean you are less likely to develop nausea / sickness.

Just relax. Call your clinic if you’re worried in any way about your symptoms but you should be okay.

Im nearly 9 weeks and breast pain has been coming and going. One week too sore to touch, now barely a tingle. Only the horrific nausea and vomiting has been constant. You can't really rely on any symptoms. When i had a mmc none of my symptoms disappeared so personally i wouldnt be concerned or reassured by them.

Will you be having an early scan through your clinic?

Never heard about prenatals helping nausea. The prenatals actually make me sicker on top of it, they did in all 3 pregnancies and the first 2 i took for months in advance.

Most of the prenatals that an ivf clinic would recommend (Pregnacare Max etc) would contain B6 which will help nausea especially if taken for as long as we’re recommended to during an IVF cycle - eg my clinic had me on prenatals every day for 2 years. Didn’t take a break. In the end that proved great because last cycle I was diagnosed with a heterogynous MUTFR mutation so my body isn’t great at digesting folic acid.

If prenatals make you sicker it’s probably the iron in them. Though having said that being anemic also makes nausea worse.

I tried pregnacare and seven seas in my first 2 they were horrific. The iron isn't great either as it can really build up constipation, though i imagine anaemia leads to fainting a lot.

Im just using just folic acid now and it's still not great. Haven't heard of b6 though, maybe i can get it separately, thanks for the tip.

I had a day last week when my sore boobs weren’t sore anymore. I’m 7 weeks. I know it can be a sign of miscarriage when symptoms go but you need to wait and see. They might return. I was really frightened that day mine weren’t sore. They literally felt like back when I wasn’t pregnant. No tenderness or anything. But next evening they were back sore again and now they’re agony esp when I take my bra off. Give it time and don’t panic. All is hopefully ok!!!

My last pregnancy ended in Mmc all my symptoms went pretty much in one evening nausea, breast tenderness, sleepiness. All of it. I’m currently 17 weeks and my breast tenderness has come and gone sometimes it would disappear for an evening and be back in the morning. I haven’t had much nausea this pregnancy but was tired. Since 12 weeks my breast tenderness has reduced dramatically. Now it’s barely there but I can feel her moving around.

Thank you everyone, you’ve really helped put my mind at rest!

I’ve never had issues with symptoms disappearing, I’d usually get cramps first and bleeding and then they’d gradually go over a week or so (I’ve had 2 miscarriages). I have noticed though since around 2/3pm the soreness has come back, which kind of happened yesterday, so now I’m wondering whether they’ll only get sore as the day goes on. I realise (now that it feels more how it did!) it’s silly to put a lot into symptoms and panic about them but I guess it’s easy to at the same time 🤷🏼‍♀️ The weirds and wonders of pregnancy!

Thank you!
