Hi, so I've been under Consultant care due to polyhydramnios reoccurrence in each pregnancy (some consultants I've seen don't think it's necessary some do.) I'm 34 and have had vaginal births with all 3 of my previous babies. The 1st was over due by 9 days, 8lb10 and became distressing after getting stuck, leading to an episiotomy and forceps. 2nd I wasn't induced until 42+2 despite having polyhydramnios (a lot of extra fluid) as the hospital was too busy. He was 9lbs10, also got stuck and I needed an episiotomy and he has vebtouse after becoming distressed. Number 3 they agreed to induce early at 38 weeks, I had polyhydramnios also and he wasn't engaged, I gave birth to him and he was 7lb6 and I only had a graze but almost anther ventouse cap at the end (had he been any bigger I'd have likely had no other option) ..... Consultants this time are suggesting I needn't have been induced for those reasons before and last night one of them told me yes I have raised fluid again, yes baby is measuring 5lb3 at 32 weeks (90th centile line on chart when the previous scan showed 50th centile at 28 weeks) but they will only induce from 41+3 if things remain the same?? If I go to 41+3 I'm concerned my baby will again get stuck, distressed and need intervention at such a large size. That I'll potentially then need a c section and also that if I went into spontaneous labour overdue I'd struggle to get to hospital with very short labour's in the past and need intervention. Fluid is raised for the second time but although I was told last visit I'd need a diabetes check if it showed a raise this time (and it did), this consultant said no need as baby would be bigger if I had diabetes but she's showing on the 90th centile line?! He said I should not worry about the worst case scenarios there are no guarantees in labour but fourth baby they'd not offer a c section with after 3 vaginal births unless they had a very good reason and same applies to induction until 41+3?!! Am I being unreasonable to be concerned? My waters have never gone on their own, I've always needed induction, my last 2 labour's were short (shortest 2hr45), I have extra fluid again plus a 90th centile baby at 32 weeks and I only just about managed to push out a 7lb6 baby without assisted delivery. I'm going to wait and see what they say at the next scan in 4 weeks, I'm lucky my initial consultant made that the plan at my 20week or I'd not have these scans and checks at all going by the last 2 Consultants. X
