Girl or boy - I’m not convinced!

Hi Ladies
I was wondering if you could all have a look at my 23 week ultrasound. We went on the assumption we didn’t want to find out, but the sonographer wrote baby girl on the screen. As happy as we both are, we’re just not convinced she saw anything to determine boy or girl as we were both watching the screen! The baby was in an awkward position, upside down and she said she’d struggle getting a clear look.
We told her we’d see she said she’d send us all the photos she took, this is the best one.

Looks like girl to me as well. Although boy bits can sometimes be hidden, they're usually out and proud on the potty shot. My dd had absolutely nothing between the legs and my ds quite clearly had something in between his legs. You can always go and get another private scan done just to reassure you.

My only query is that she’s determined we’re having a girl from this photo, and I can’t see three lines. I get that if there’s nothing swinging around, chances are it’s a girl, but we have actually had two private scans now and our 12 and 20 week ones too, and after showing people, they are saying it’s a boy, going on skull theory etc.
Any of you ladies got any accurate old wives tales I could go on. X

There is no such thing as an accurate old wives' tale. That's kinda the point!

Babies are the exact same apart from gential development. That's why old wives tales dont make any sense.

Saying that, I can't work out what the scan picture even is let alone gender!

Also did you tell sonographer you didn't want to know and they still wrote it?

Girls have like what looks like a burger underneath. I can see it in this photo. My DD had the same.

I think it must be a girl for the sonographer to say so, she must really have good eyesight. We said we didn’t want to know and she said she’d tell us to look away when she wrote it on the screen for her files, but when he said told us to look back it was still on the screen.
We’re both super happy, we just wish someone could shed one light on our scan photos, as we can’t make out anything from it.
