Nearly 37 weeks, loose bowels?

Sorry for the TMI.

I've heard that loose bowels can indicate your body is getting ready for labour. This morning, I've already been 3 times and last time was very loose (not diarrhea though).

The last 2 days baby has been shifting position a lot but actually seems a little higher so I think it's just more head down (up until now, I think it's basically been more balled up and cocooned deep in my pelvis on the left hand side, if that makes sense). Now it almost feels baby is more upright and in a better position for birth. I've also been VERY hormonal the last week.

I'm 36+4. I actually have a midwife appointment later today but is it true that loose bowels can mean labour is imminent or could it just be because baby has moved, my bowels are functioning better??
