Severe nausea & weight gain at 8 weeks

Hi all,

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and since week 5 I have had severe nausea, no vomiting. I can eat and drink, but only plain foods. I've tried eating little and often, drinking plenty of fluids, sickness bands and anything with ginger in but there is no let up.

I have also gained 4lbs already.. which I was not expecting at all.

Anyone have any advice or experienced similar and had an solution?

Thanks all!

Yep,I remember it well even though it was 17 years ago. I found Rennie's helped.

@Andersonx3 I'm in exactly the same boat x

@DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen oh really? This is my first pregnancy so I've nothing to go on! I've got my booking appointment on Friday so hopefully my midwife will be able to send some suggestions my way too!

I'm just coming out the other side of this - I'm 15+2 and have been feeling consistently better for about a week. I got prescribed medicine (mine was cyclizine) which really helped; I'd ask your doctor or midwife about it if you're really struggling (they might be a bit reluctant at first but it sounds like you've tried everything and nothing's worked, so they should help you.) You poor thing - it's horrible!

Andersonx3 · 24/04/2019 12:33

@princesstinnedpeach oh I'm glad you're feeling better!!
I have a very good GP - I have spinal arthritis (I'm 24, just makes me sound about 87), and so my GP is very helpful with any issues I have, I've requested a doctor call me at some point today so fingers crossed they have some more suggestions or maybe meds!

This is me too. Have gained about 3kg, am hungry but feel nauseous and uncomfortably bloated. TMI but I usually feel better after a bowel movement; just takes a lot of wholegrain / water / fybogel to get me there!

Andersonx3 · 24/04/2019 12:58

@Teddybear45 the bloating is real Blush I'm with you on that! Oh bless, I hope you start to feel better soon!
