Currently 41 + 6 Blush Checking in at the hospital at 8am tomorrow. I know inductions can be a long process, and I am interested in hearing how long it was for those of you who had one.... Thanks in advance to anyone who replies! Smile

I've had 4 inductions all for going overdue.

Longest was 36 hours, shortest 10 hours. The more overdue they were the shorter the process.

2 I had ARM, no drip, no assistance with delivery, no stitches, the last 3 were whoppers!

Sleepinglemon · 23/04/2019 21:14

Induced Thursday morning, DS born 3pm Friday.

pumpkinpie01 · 23/04/2019 21:20

Pessary at 9am did nothing one at 3 pm did nothing. Next day given one at 9 am then contractions started thick and fast at 6.45 , was given another one 20 minutes into labour even though told him I did not need it Ds born at 10.50. Good luck !

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 23/04/2019 21:22

100 hours.

(Junior doctors strike).

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 23/04/2019 21:27

Pessary 130am

Slept from 2-6.

Woke, no pains, no contractions on monitor. Walked up and down 30 flights of stairs (really). Possible mild niggles then.

8.15am MW monitors me to see if anything. Nada, no contractions.

8.20 am MW leaves room for shift change

8.25 or so am I pop to en suite loo, feel strange urge to push, must be prelabour poo.

8.33am DS born.

!!

Oh and DD2 born at 8.46.

Double !!

AdoreTheBeach · 23/04/2019 21:36

I was induced twice. Once due to pre eclampsia (two days, they broke my water and pitocin), second time was because I was overdue and was about 12 hours (sweep, pitocin)

Beingamumbestthingintheworld · 23/04/2019 21:39

Pessery in early hours on friday at 3 later that day waters broke half 6 baby born at 10 all happened so quick. Good luck .

Anothertempusername · 23/04/2019 21:39

50 hours altogether. It wasn't completely pleasant (!!) but you honestly forget so quickly. Good luck!!

LancashireTea · 23/04/2019 21:39

4 days here. Saturday and Sunday: Pessaries didn't work at all. I ended up with a raging kidney infection due to all the faffing downstairs.

Monday: put on the drip and waters broken manually.

Eventually, after being on the drip for 18 hours, DD was born on Tuesday morning.

AxCap · 23/04/2019 21:54

3.5 hours Smile I was 35+0 and put straight on the drip. Planned to get induced with DC2 at 37+0 but they came the day before anyway.

theworstwife · 23/04/2019 22:01

DC1 - 29 hours - all a bit unpleasant, high rotational forceps delivery born 2 weeks overdue
DC2 - 24 hours - much better experience, induced due to reduced movements 40+3
Both forgotten about pretty quick
Good luck OP

Went in on a Saturday morning and had DS on the Tuesday.

WhispersOfWickedness · 23/04/2019 22:08

Definitely good to stay positive Smile Fwiw, it is very good news that the induction is for being overdue, as these have the biggest chance of a successful induction... baby is ready to come out, just needs a little nudge! Good luck, and please update when you are out the other side GrinThanks

Nat6999 · 23/04/2019 22:19

Sweep & gel Saturday morning 10.00am, more gel 8.00pm Saturday night, sweep & pessary 8.00am Sunday morning, sweep & waters broken 8.00pm Sunday night, epidural & drip started 11.30pm, drip increased over next 16 hours, 8cm 2 hours later back to 6 cm, EMCS 6.00pm DS born 6.22pm.

CookieSwirlC · 23/04/2019 22:33

Pessary at 12pm, baby in my arms at 5.35pm the same day. My waters had already gone 24 hours before though which was why I was being induced.

greathat · 23/04/2019 22:38

3 hours dc1, 40 minutes for the second. Although I'm sure I was already well in labour with the second, their machine just wasn't picking up the contractions.

mrsp987 · 23/04/2019 22:45

Also 6 days here! They finally broke my waters on day 6 was put on the drip as contractions didn't start and baby was born 2 hours later

TrixieFranklin · 23/04/2019 22:48

Somewhere between 3 and 4 days

SPR1107 · 23/04/2019 22:51

Pessary in at 10am, when it was taken out the standard 24 hours it is put in for, I was ready for labour ward. There was no space for me, so had to wait 36 hours (but this was a staffing issue, not an induction issue), once I got down there, waters were broken, two hour walk and I was still only 3cm, was put on the drip and baby was in my arms 17 minutes later! And this was 38+6.

LittleSprite · 23/04/2019 23:29

Prostin gel to baby was about 16 hours, but only 2 hours of that was actually labour.
