Hello. It's my due date today, I really really thought that this baby would be out by now! I was 3cm dilated 2 weeks ago. Tonnes of braxton hicks every day.

I have DD1 who is 2.5 and very very active. Usually we would be out enjoying the weather but I have nothing summery big enough to wear and I'm huge and exhausted.

Husband working all weekend too until late and I'm just feeling really down now.

I've tried everything to start labour off- nothing's worked. Has anything worked for you to start labour off?
How do I get over being so down? I know it will be all over soon but this pregnancy feels like it's gone on for years! I'm so tired with DD1.

Can I join you 😊 same boat no baby 😭 I think I have given up lol

ricepuddingme · 20/04/2019 13:19

Hey @littlehelp !
I think it makes it 10x worse that the weather is so nice!
No motivation at all, just so so tired!

37+1 today and done now! Fortunately DS was summer born so I have a few dresses although I look like a sofa in everything.

Can you decamp to a friends for a bit of help? It's so tough going with a toddler! I hope you don't have to wait too much longer!

ricepuddingme · 20/04/2019 13:33

We spent all day out yesterday and this week (lots of walking with hope it would help) so don't really want to impose on friends and family too much, Going to family tomorrow for Easter lunch too. I feel bad and like a burden. Sad

I feel bad moaning about the situation. I really selfishly just want DH Home from work to look after our daughter while I just don't do anything. He's a chef though so very busy this Easter weekend.

I had 2 friends who were due after me and they have both given birth, enjoying their babies and getting on with healing. I'm green with envy.

Honestly, I would impose to be honest! It's not like you're going to be doing it week in week out, I'm sure your friends and family will understand in the circumstances.

It's really hard going at this stage and the heat just makes it worse!

Chelseaftm · 20/04/2019 14:16

I'm in the same boat I'm just so over this just want to meet my little one ended up going to the labour ward the other night as was having full blown contractions every 5 only to find out I was a finger tip dilated lol it's all too much !!!! As for this weather it's a joke I feel to cut holes in a bed sheet and walk around in one of those lol !!!

Hopefully your little one will be on the way soon !!

ricepuddingme · 20/04/2019 16:05

Me and DD Just had a nap! That killed a couple of hours!

I can hear everyone outside enjoying it with their families and Again the little green monster is just sitting on my back. Today's just been a complete waste. Looking forward to tomorrow!

I'm booked in for a sweep on Monday but was so so sure baby would we here before then.

littlehelp · 20/04/2019 16:32

That’s good they offered you a sweep I’m not allowed one till 41 weeks 😡 even though this is my fourth ha surely he should be falling out lol 😂 get bouncing on your ball

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 20/04/2019 16:41

I was in the same boat with dc2 just as the weather started to improve last month.

In the days before my due date I just had this feeling that baby wasn’t coming anytime soon. Didn’t bother nesting as I thought I had looooooads of time- I’d had no twinges, no sign of my plug etc.

Then my waters spectacularly broke when I was changing the toddler’s bed- I was panicking because I’d convinced myself I had another week or more. DS arrived the day before his due date, so you never know!

ricepuddingme · 20/04/2019 16:55

@littlehelp oh really? As soon as you go over your date you are offered one here.
I had one on my actual due date with DD1.

@PennyMordauntsLadyBrain you have restored my hope slightly haha! Maybe I should change all the bedding! I'm currently cleaning skirting boards whilst squatting.

Same boat here too, was due yesterday and nothings happening. I went 7 days over with my first and can't face going a full week over again. I have no energy, no patience with my four year old and I'm really, really fed up. Can't wait to chuck all my maternity clothes out too.

ricepuddingme · 20/04/2019 17:38

@ReginaGeorgeous I was 7 days over with my first too... everyone said to me that 2nd babies come out sooner and faster.

My selfish over pregnant miserable self wants it to rain and be miserable outside!! EnvyGrin

My due date today too. Went for an appointment and they discovered the abdomen of the baby hadn't grown much so got a sweep and induction tomorrow morning. I would much rather have waited a while longer :(

ReginaGeorgeous · 20/04/2019 18:03

@ricepuddingme we've obviously been talking to the same liars about the length of second pregnancies!

JPK1510 · 20/04/2019 18:10

Thinking of you all ladies good luck x

seeingdots · 20/04/2019 18:20

I'm due today too and also have a 2.5 year old so I very much feel your pain! I'm so fed up and grumpy at everyone today. I have hardly any mat clothes that still fit me and none are any good for this nice. I sneezed and pissed in my last clean pair of mat leggings today, the glamour!

DD was induced at 40+13 so I'm feeling like I'm likely to be in it for the long run again this time and I'm mightily fucked off about it.

seeingdots · 20/04/2019 18:21

*nice weather

ricepuddingme · 20/04/2019 19:25

Literally pulled my entire wardrobe out and I have no clothes that fit that are suitable for warm weather at all! I have 2 maternity dresses but I look like a giant lampshade!
Even my maternity jeans are too tight now Blush my maternity leggings have holes in the crotch they've been washed and worn so much!

Light pains again but I'm not holding out much hope as I get them most nights now!

I've been ball bouncing, nipple tweaking, deep squatting and power cleaning, I must have walked miles this past week. My womb must be blooming comfy!

mumtobe9 · 21/04/2019 03:48

same here. im 4 days overdue too, and i went for a walk today in a long sleeved top as i have no summer clothes that fit me :-(
How do you know you were 2 cm dilated? They never offered an internal examination yet. They just say i am healthy and i shouldn't worry. My midwife saw me at 39 weeks, and said i didn't need to be seen this week. my next appointment is next thursday, 41+2, i was quite worried but decided not to think about it as it would only make me more stressed and delay labour. This positive mind set hasn't worked yet though...

MonsterKidz · 21/04/2019 04:24

I was in the exact same situation on this day 5 years ago!

My first was 7 days over. I was so sure I’d be earlier with my 2nd! But no, he was 10 days over!!

So exactly 5 years ago today I was as fed up and huge as you and it was Easter and everyone had plans and I was a giant Easter egg and so miserable! I decided that enough was enough and the baby could just stay inside me. I was done.

I spent the afternoon in the pool, ate Easter eggs, went to bed and woke up at 2am to my waters exploding all over the bed!

Little man was born at 6pm that day.

5 years on and it’s his birthday.

Good luck OP, your LO will arrive and this will all seem like a blip in the ocean.

ricepuddingme · 21/04/2019 07:50

@mumtobe9 I had a midwife come to my home (planned Home birth) as we thought I was in labour (obviously not) and she did an internal check.
I get weekly visits from my midwife now but I think it varies by the area you live.
Good luck Thanks

@MonsterKidz You give me hope!Smile I was just so set on having a lovely Easter with my husband and 2 children, instead I'm sat here alone with my 2 year old absolutely shattered & puffy. Husband finishes a bit earlier today (5pm rather than 11pm) so I can look forward to some chill time later.

Feeling so sick the past couple of days too, I don't know if it's anxiety? The heat?
I am literally gagging when I put food in my mouth.
Pubic bone is agony today too.
No idea what I can wear today! I might just have to go for the oversized lampshade look!

littlehelp · 22/04/2019 18:31

Any updates ladies? I’m really tempted to book in for another midwife appointment tomorrow for a sweep sod waiting till 41+2 last 2 pregnancy I had them at 40 weeks.

Been for a huge walk today and not a sausage of labour starting lol 😆

ricepuddingme · 22/04/2019 20:18

@littlehelp had my sweep today (40+1), LOADS of stinging down below now so hopefully something will happen!
Light period like pains too but in my back?! If that's possible?

God I want her out so badly!!!! Ball bouncing and nipple tweaking while watching game of thrones! Going to order a curry too. Watch this space! Grin

I’m due April 26 but can’t wait for baby to get out. This is my third but I’ve never been this pregnant before - had my others at 38 and 37 weeks. Was counting on the full moon helping things along - but no movement.

ThriftyMcThrifty · 22/04/2019 20:55

Anyway this thread is exactly how I feel. Hope I find myself suddenly going into labor as some of you have described.
