I know people get on the horse about this being bullshit but this is my 2nd child I know what it feels like.
Iv been feeling more and more movement as the week has gone on when laying down.
I havnt got my scan for another month!
I'm wondering weather I'm further along.

I would say that feeling a baby move this early is extremely rare but I wont say impossible as I can't know and no one could unless they blindfolded you whilst they scanned you and you correctly identified movement.
From what I understand though limbs are like stubs at 8-9 weeks and there is a lot of fluid around. To feel movement there needs to be enough pressure from the limbs moving in the fluid to allow you to feel and at such an early point there is unlikely to be enough pressure for you to be able to feel it.
I'd say it was more likely for you to feel it if you were further along or having twins.
I'm on number 2 and think I might have felt something this past week (almost 15 weeks) but until its moved past the fluttering stage I won't know for sure if it is what I think it is.

I used to think it must be rubbish when people say they feel baby really early, then I thought I felt my second pregnancy around 11 weeks so who knows!

ChrisPrattsFace · 07/04/2019 09:04

I’m 18 weeks and my midwife told me I was ‘silly’ to think I could feel things at this stage.
I have read a lot about 2nd/3rd or multiple pregnancies feeling it much earlier on, you know your body better than most!

Could you have a UTI? I felt my baby super early and it turned out my bladder was super sensitive because of a UTI. Every time the baby moved against that I felt it at around 10 weeks. Once UTI was treated and gone I didn't feel the baby again until 16 weeks.

It would seem pretty early - however everyone was sceptical that I could feel DD moving at 11.5 weeks. (Only child.) Even I was starting to disbelieve it. We went for the 12 week scan & I told the midwife where she was & that she'd suddenly started moving. Vindicated! Grin

I felt mine at about 11 weeks when I thought I was 10 weeks. Thought I was going mad and told myself it was possible. I had my scan at 13 +4 and showed twins Grin so I wasn't mad after all x

ChrisPrattsFace your midwife is way off! I was absolutely feeling my first pregnancy at 15/16 weeks as have a few friends. Not nice of her to be so dismissive and no need to call you silly.

NanooCov · 07/04/2019 16:33

More probably it's just your own body stretching etc to accommodate things?

HJWT · 07/04/2019 17:29

Its definitely your body changing or gas!! I am 12 weeks and keep thinking 'did it just move' 🤣

paige321 · 07/04/2019 21:35

Hmmm it's just a feeling you can't forget but I could be wrong I would just like to know how far I actually am iv been so bad with morning sickness this time for 3/4 weeks now and have constant motion sickness feeling it's awful

I had flutters from week 8 and it was my first pregnancy. Was a really odd feeling I never had before so I convinced myself it couldn‘t be movement. However that feeling increased right until the point when you start feeling harder pops and replaced completely with kicks later on. Totally unmistakable and now I know what to look for in a second pregnancy!

Notquiteagandt · 08/04/2019 05:05

I felt flutters in my 1st pregnancy from about 11 or 12 weeks. Was unsure but when went for scan she was super active and whdn the sonogrammer said "oh you can feel that?" As the movements matched up to what she was seeing.

Id had HG though and gone super skinny. So they said sometimes thinner you are more you feel.
