Hi everyone, I’m having a melt down, so if you’re pregnant or have been in the last please help! So I’m 20 weeks pregnant (all well) and I’ve just realised when I was around 9 weeks pregnant, I put some spot on treatment on the cat. I just didn’t think! I can’t remember if I got any one me or not or if I washed my hands. I just did it without thinking. I don’t remember it getting on me, and I’m thinking I probably would as I imagine it’s sticky!? But I’m panicking! Anyone else done this?

I've just googled for you and the risk of a one off exposure to a flea treatment either through skin or inhaling is next to none - they advise not to use them before 14 weeks IF you are using them in an environment where you are using them every day and even then the risk is tiny - nothing you can buy over the counter to treat fleas is known to cause defects, so any advice is given as a precaution, so please try and relax Smile

Vet and pregnant with DC2. I have never cautioned owners re topical flea treatment and pregnancy tbh and have no doubt got a lot of liquid medication on my hands in recent months! Chances are if you got it on your hands you would have instinctively washed it, if not I can't see there being any risk.

Don't worry about it!

Thank you both so much! I spoke to my vet who said his wife is also a vet and used it all the way through pregnancy and will have got it on her....all ok 😊 I just keep thinking what if I didn’t notice I’d got any on me s didn’t wash it off. Rationally I kind of know that’s unlikely, but I keep thinking what if! Pregnancy is making me quite irrational! x
