Did any natural induction methods work for you?

Obviously I know that ultimately baby comes when babies ready but I was just wondering if anyone has ever managed to induce their labour naturally? If so what did you do? I'm 39 weeks tomorrow so not desperate to start labour but just curious in case I want to try and get things going.

Yes, was almost a fortnight overdue and did not want to be induced. Saw an acupuncturist , had needles on my ankle and felt a massive twinge in my belly, then went onto labour within a few hours. Might have been a coincidence, who knows, but it didn’t feel like one.

I guess I'll never know if I would have gone into labour anyway however sex worked for me!

It was probably a coincidence but my waters broke just after rubbing a point on my ankles that I read about while Googling how to get labour started. You put your thumbs on your inner ankle bones and then move them down and back about an inch until you find a natural indent, then just rub gently in a circular motion.
I don't actually believe it worked but I'll still be giving it a go again this time just incase, before my actual induction.

Both my labours started the after sex, could have been a coincidence!

Thank you for the replies! Interesting to hear everyone's theories. Might give some of them a go if I go past 40 weeks.

I'm pretty sure I got my labour started earlier than it might have been. Baby was born exactly on the due date. I read about cervical sweeps and was trying my own for about a week beforehand. I'm quite flexible and didn't see any reason to get someone else in when I was quite capable of rummaging on my own.

It's definitely/most likely a coincidence but my labour started at 36+6 after one tablet of rasberry leaf tea. I lost my mucus plug about 12 hours after taking the tablet and then baby was here 24 hours after that. I'd had my 36 week appointment & scan the same day that I took the rasberry leaf tea and they were like yeah, start taking it now and see what happens as the plan was to induce at 39 weeks which I was trying to avoid... Didn't envisage that I'd have the baby so quickly or early given it's my first.
