I’m technically 37+6, admitted last night and they were talking about inducing me today. Looks like I have or am getting pre eclampsia and baby’s estimated to be quite big so looks “well cooked” already head down and low.

Does anyone want to share their induction story? How long were you in afterwards? My inner HCA can’t sleep for beeping monitors and buzzers Grin and I miss the fur children already.. not sure about DP, no farting or snorings quite nice Grin

Eventually the eventful update 😂.

After the second pessary I slept right through till like 4am until my hospital room mate needed help with her drip etc. I had mild cramps that went to moderate and then severe by 7am.. like 5am I was on the floor Leaning onto the bed rocking and by 7am I was trying to stay conscious.. on nothing but two paracetamol/codeine and a single tiny dose of oramorph, i ended up demanding they put me on a monitor and an internal. At 8.30, I was apparently 2cm😂 but my waters could be felt to be broken. Champion..

At 10, with no more pain relief, but looking like death i went to L&D. She checked me on arrival after getting an epidural booked and giving me gas and air.. I could partially function pre epidural but I was at 5cm.. easily stretching to 8 and completely effaced. The pain was making my muscles spasm and slow labour.

Waters were broken at 12.. loads of water.. like I gave the place an indoor pool. By the time she “drained” me the anaesthetist had arrived and placed my epidural which took a fair bit of work between contractions that took my breath and naturally made Me bear down uncontrollably. I was rechecked almost 2pm baby was on his way out head.. just, we let me progress naturally now I was comfortable.

At 3.30pm I was rechecked and baby was facing diagonally and back to back.. no wonder that hurt eh 🙈. Registrar and the consultants came in and we decided to give forceps a trial and if they failed we’d do an emergency c section.. he wasn’t distressed yet but it was a matter of time until he got to that stage so obviously I agree.

4.30ish I’m numbed to the eyeballs with DM holding my hand in theatre while DP panics in recovery.
All set up and the senior steps in as babies now distressed, she checks he’s turned his head. She asks me to push the best I can, one more and We’ll have baby.. obviously I don’t believe here. Forceps go in 123 push.. bam baby on the second push.

I’ve got a fair few stitches but I was cut rather than torn, apparently worse, baby was fine had only turned his head not his shoulders and had got the cord tightly round his neck so obviously we didn’t cut cords.

But he’s tiny! Perfect and healthy, taken to EBF like a duck to water and has barely made a squeak! Monitoring him is almost done and I’ll can take my 6lb 1 bundle home.

I’m fine, won’t lie it feels like I’ve been kicked in the fanny by the jolly green giant. But I’ll be fine:

Possibly being discharged today! I’ll be glad because this tiny man sleeps great until a ward screamer gets going.

Alls well that ends well.. back to bed 😂

Ahh congratulations Flowers and well done! Sounds eventful and quite similar to mine, remember the kicked in the foof feeling all too well!
Hope you get home today, enjoy those cuddles Grin

@whatthefoxsaid yeah definitely eventful but apparently the team were happy with how relaxed and open I was since I kept just saying ok, I think they realised I was just agreeing so I got my baby and kept my drug buttons by then end 😂. And my antenal class isn’t till the 25th to do my birth plan.. I think that ship sailed.

I will! I can’t believe he’s only just 6lb1 after everyone saying he’d be well over 8
