Freckles/moles changing in pregnancy

I’m 28 weeks pregnant and I’ve noticed a mole/freckle near my nipple has changed in size/shape and is slightly raised. There’s also one that sits below my bra band that has rubbed and is raw and sore.

Is this a normal pregnancy thing or do I need an appointment with the doctor?

I'm glad you've asked this - I've got a mole/freckle on my belly which has grown, not sure if it's grown or stretched as my bump is growing and was wondering if others had had this?

I'm not sure of the answer, but assuming hormonal changes can affect moles. Am going to ask my midwife about it at my next appointment but if anyone else knows beforehand that's be great!

I've had the same. I read about increased skin tags during pregnancy so i would guess moles could change too

Yes moles can change in pregnancy but it's always best to get checked out anyway. I had one on the top of my thigh that changed alot and I ended up having it removed, just to be on the safe side and because it looked awful.

Moles can change when pregnant, a few of mine did. It’s best to get them checked though as the dr can tell if the changes are benign or not.

@Capybaras I’ve one on my tummy which stretched when I was pregnant, it’s still kinda stretched now but then so is my whole tummy.

I gained a ton of moles in pregnancy and existing ones changed a bit. There was one I got checked out and it was ok. I’d say it’s sensible to get these things checked, but it’s definitely very possible for pregnancy to affect moles.

Agree with others.
Get them checked. It is very common in pregnancy for the hormone changes in your body to affect existing moles.
I have one on my tummy which grew and became irregular in the first 12 weeks. I’ve had it checked and it’s fine. The doctors take it very seriously so don’t feel like your being silly or wasting anyone’s time.
It’s a common complaint.
I also had a small mole on my neck which has tripled in size during my pregnancy and is like a huge skin tag now. It hangs and is very sore because I keep catching It. I’m on the list to have it removed through a minor surgical department.
Better to be safe then sorry x

I think because I’ve mentioned a couple of other minor things to my midwife and been made to feel like an over anxious hypochondriac I don’t want to bring it up if it’s normal.

I assumed it is from the bump growing @Stinkytoe but will get it checked out at my next appointment!

@Capybaras how did it go? Did you get it checked? Asking as have similar thing
