Tesco pregnancy test - positive?

Can anyone tell me if this test is positive? I assumed it was as there’s a string line in both windows...but now noticed that the test line is horizontal not vertical like the control line. Does this matter? I’ve thrown away the instructions! It’s a Tesco own test.

Can't see a picture x

Tempoaryname · 16/03/2019 06:33

Cant see a picture but is it meant to come up with a cross instead of a line.

AdviceSeeker4 · 16/03/2019 06:45

Sorry, I don’t know how to upload a picture?! I think it’s just a line in each window - one control, one test. Unless anyone knows if it should be a cross?

That is normally negative, sorry. One window should have a cross.

AdviceSeeker4 · 16/03/2019 06:56

Thank you chocolatebuttonsandcheese. I thought the Tesco one it was just a line in the test window to show positive and no line to show negative. I threw the box away after I did the first one a few weeks ago!

Not sure specifically about Tesco tests but those I have done were a line in each window for positive.

AdviceSeeker4 · 16/03/2019 07:15

Thank you BugPlaster. That’s what I thought. It would be odd to have a control line and an additional line for negative. I though it was control line + blank test window = negative or control line plus line/cross test window = positive. It’s the fact it’s horizontal line in the test window that’s odd!

If the line on the test window is horizontal then my guess it’s that there’s supposed to be a vertical line in the test window too for it to be positive.

AdviceSeeker4 · 16/03/2019 07:39

Thanks onemoremummy. It’s just odd to have a line at all if the window should be totally blank for a negative!

Thanks so much for that. Really helpful. Is it supposed to be a blank test window for negative?

When I did them .many years ago I sometimes got the horizontal line when it was a negative.

LJS8987 · 16/03/2019 08:01

No just the one horizontal line

AdviceSeeker4 · 16/03/2019 08:05

Oh, I really thought it was a positive. 😥 Thanks for your help.

This was my positive Tesco test a year ago

Thanks Calleyace. Unfortunately I think the previous poster is correct, Tesco own tests now are: plus sign for positive and - sign for negative in test window. I thought one kind in control window and one in testvwibfoe was positive 😥

AdviceSeeker4 · 16/03/2019 16:21

Sorry typos...
*Line not kind!
**test window not testvwibfoe !!

I used about 4 Tesco tests and I had one line in each window and I am 24 weeks pregnant now.. no plus sign, I don’t have a pic any more but all the tests I did were just one line and no plus sign for any brand I used. Could be two different types of Tesco brand?

Lostnames · 16/03/2019 21:14

Meant to say that both lines were vertical though.
