Red blood with tiny clots...no pain ?

You may have seen my post the other day about brown discharge... since then it has increased to the point where yesterday it was red blood.. went up a&e who have booked me a scan for tomorrow morning

In the night the bleeding has increased with tiny blood clots but still no pain? The odd period like cramp but nothing major or even in slightest painful.

Has anyone experienced this and have any insight for me? To be honest I am thinking I have lost it but still trying hold on to a little hope

Hi OP,

Try not to worry. (Though easier said than done, I know.)

I'm now 8+3 and experienced bleeding on the following days:

5+4 (the first time we'd had sex since conception. Bright red blood when I wiped mid-morning. Tailed off in the afternoon.)
5+6 (again, red blood mid-morning)
Days 6+1 - 6+4 (alternating red and brown blood, some clots, but no pain)

Had a scan at 6+5, and all ok. A viable embryo with a heartbeat Smile

A bit of brown spotting after that, then bright red blood at 7+5 (again, mid-morning) but nothing since then.

I have my next scan at the end of the week to check things are still ok.

There are lots of reasons for bleeding and many of them are not bad. The clinic didn't have any answers for me, but told me it's very common. Try not to fret! Take it as easy as you can.

Hope all's well, keeping my fingers crossed for you. Xxx

Thank you for your reply. I am keeping everything crossed, suppose the hardest part is not knowing and waiting until the morning.

You've just made me think... first time I had the brown spotting was about 12 hours after sex which like you was the first time since conception wondering if that could be it ? But then again would it really carry on for a few days and get heavier

I really am keeping my fingers crossed for you. It's good to know that other women have experienced bleeding and it's been ok, but I totally understand that when it's your own body and your own pregnancy, it makes sod all difference to how you feel - the only thing that will make you feel better is getting a solid answer at your scan. I do hope it's ok. I was out of my mind in week 6 and the four days of bleeding and waiting were like torture. Keep your chin up - you'll soon find out. Thinking about you xxx

@Sparkle0109 I had pink/brown bleeding at 8 weeks - no pain. Scan a few days later showed all was good.

At 10 weeks I had a big bleed (bright red blood) a few tiny clots. No pain. Obviously, I was terrified. So very scary. Was so much blood compared to previous bleed. Again a scan a few days later showed everything was fine. Bleed was coming from somewhere not near the baby.

I'm now 23+1. Grin

I know it's hard but try not to worry. No pain is a very good sign. I hope your scan goes well.

Thank you so so much for your replies. Gives me some home everything is going to be ok. I am glad that everything turned out to be ok with both of your pregnancies

Tonight is going to be a long night but I will keep you updated tomorrow what goes on

Thanks for your lovely messages and thoughts...

I dont really know what to think... had the scan and they couldn't see anything.. same again for an internal scan still couldn't see anything.. she told me it could either be a miscarriage, ectopic or too early to detect anything. Had my blood taken and got to go back on Saturday to have blood work again to see if the hormone level has increased. Came home and did a pregnancy test which was pretty much negative so I broke my heart.
However, me being me randomly found another pregnancy test so thought might as well do it- came back a strong positive but I also noticed blood in my urine which I have heard can be a UTI which is coming to causing bleeding in pregnancy... so dont really know what to think at the moment, my head is everywhere.

Currently waiting for nurse to call me to give me an idea on HCG levels

Has anyone known anyone to have a uti in pregnancy and bleed ??

Had the call off the nurse .. looks like definitely miscarriage.. my hcg level is 128 which is considering pretty low but also my progesterone level is only 3

Sorry to hear this. I'm being re scanned tomorrow because last week there was just an empty amniotic sac measuring 6+5.

The bleeding could just be from the internal scan, it's happened to me in the past.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you x

Sparkle0109 · 14/03/2019 15:34

I had the bleeding before the internal scan

Hope your scan results turns out good for you. Fingers crossed and good luck!
