Hi ladies, so I found out last week that I was pregnant, I will be 7 weeks this coming Thursday. Is it normal to feel absolutely exhausted and just generally unwell at this stage?

I got pregnant end of October. I spent most of December, laying on the sofa struggling to function because I was so tired (and normally I can't sit still!). Since I hit 2nd trimester I have boundless energy though so it gets better!

Yes, totally normal.., well in my experience anyway!

I will also be 7w on Thursday. I’ve napped every day for the past 2 weeks, which is unlike me. I have a general feeling of ‘bleurgh’ and just generally unwell. It’s hard to describe the feeling isn’t it. I was trying to explain to DH how I felt.. but it’s hard to pinpoint.

Totally sympathise with you and we can just only hope it gets better!

During both my pregnancies I was earth shatteringly tired until 12 weeks then felt slightly better. I felt much less tired from 15 weeks until 34 weeks.

Yeah it is really hard to explain. Bless you, you have my sympathy. I think one of the hardest things is putting on an act at work and with people as I'm not saying anything till 12 weeks. 😓

Can I join? I'm 9 weeks I'm exhausted, bloated and feel generally run down and unwell.
I've no idea how to pick myself up or feel better and feel terribly guilty as we have had a very rough 20 month ttc.

Surely I should feel on top of the world!

SarahC240710 · 10/03/2019 20:47

Sounds like this is fairly common problem, guess we have to just remind ourselves that it will all be worth it in the end but it's so hard feeling like this day in and day out. Feel totally drained

Keeping up the act at work is hard. When I’m constantly yawning, and by 3pm have bloated up to the size of a baby elephant. I feel your pain!

Em39ma · 10/03/2019 21:11

I’m 8 weeks today.
For the last 3 weeks I’ve slept for 2 hours nearly every afternoon.

I'm 6 weeks today and I'm exhausted. It's hard pretending I'm not shattered at work. DP doesn't seem to believe I am as tired as I say I am this early on.

That was my one and only pregnancy symptom! Before finding out i was pregnant (was completely unplanned/suprise) i even made a docs appointment as i was suddenly so shattered i thought something was wrong with me, when i got my BFP it all made sense. It does ease of heading towards 12 weeks, just make the most of a nap or early nights :)

Yep, from second trimester you'll start to get more energy :-)
