Lily is lovely. Liliana reminds me of a Russian mail order bride. A bit hard-faced with long talons and too-tight jeans.

Aitch · 08/07/2007 12:57

lol! not true! i know a liliana and she is a sweetheart.

PurpleLostPrincess · 08/07/2007 13:24

If you like those, can I suggest 'Kendra' which is one of my distant cousins names?

Liliana is lovely but will probably be shortened to Lilly (we were going to go for Lilou from the 5th Element but ended up deciding against it because of it being shortened). Also, didn't want it to be confused with the Lilo and Stitch cartoon lol! Again, its really up to you though!

I'd also like Melody or Harmony but DH doesn't like them

Kadie is nice!

If you're going to choose Kennedie or Kennedy, I'd go for the one with the ie at the end as it seems more feminine but its really up to you...

Jbck · 08/07/2007 14:07

Kennedie looks made up tbh, you could shorten it to Dee if you really want it & don't want her being called Ken. I like Kendra tho.
I prefer your other names mostly Liliana or you could go for Lily-Anna then you could use any variation you fancied.

MrsBadger · 08/07/2007 15:02

of the list I like Amber - consider also Lilian.

I once knew a Cady, which I thought was pretty (and whose spelling I prefer to Kadie) - she was Dutch and I think it was short for Caroline or something similar.

I'm back, thanks for all your posts.
stargazing how do you pronounce Anielka?

alipiggie · 08/07/2007 16:48

Liliana - beautiful name. Gets my vote.

doughnuts · 08/07/2007 16:53

Kennedy means ugly head - I looked it up,once went out with someone with that surname

Stargazing · 08/07/2007 17:19

am feeling like I have been very contentious with my Liliana comments, it seems to be the most popular name!!

Anielka is pron. Anni-elka - but the i and e kind of run together a bit to give it a 'y' kind of sound - like An-y-elka - does that make sense?

j20baby · 08/07/2007 17:24

i quite like that stargazing, also am quite chuffed you all like liliana, thinking of May for a middle name.

Love Liliana too, Kennedy will definately got shortened to Ken or Kenny. Liliana would be Lilly or Lil which are both lovely girls names.

We have decided on Amber for our DD who is due in 12+6.

j20baby · 08/07/2007 19:13

jay, mine is due in 12+3 and one of the choices is still Amber Leigh

Fwiw, dd1 used to have a girl called Kennedy in her class and they all shortened it to Kenny or Ken.

DoubleBluff · 08/07/2007 21:15

Think of Kenny from South Park.
Not a good roel model.

groovergirl · 09/07/2007 09:12

Sorry, but I don't see the point in calling your lass Kennedy or Kennedie unless it's a family name with some significance to you. Otherwise it's a bit poor American white-trash with Nashville C&W aspirations. But no girl would feel cringeful about Lily or Lillian -- both very elegant.

mummyto2littleprincess · 10/07/2007 19:56

i think kennedy is a lovely name i know someone who called her girl kennedy
i like the name keegan

LaDiDudleyDursley · 10/07/2007 19:57

I really don't like it at all.

cece · 10/07/2007 19:57
