Not enough Gaviscon in the world

Just that.

The world needs more gaviscon for pregnant women.

I'm 37 weeks and I swear the entirety of my stomach acid starts rising up at around 3pm until bed time.

Any tips to chill my burning? Only two more weeks (c section booked) so I don't want to bother the doctor

Oh god, get some ranatidine down you! Was the only thing that helped me in pregnancy. Had to take omeprazole by the end as the acid was so bad. Thankfully it pretty much vanishes when you give birth

I second a doctors visit for ranitidine or omeprazole- I've been suffering horrendously for months!

I assumed this was parenting and I was going to say Rantitadine if it was about a baby.

Ranitidine!! Saved my sanity after months of swigging gaviscon from the bottle. You can buy it in Boots brand name Zantac.

31 weeks and this has been bothering me for a while.

phoned the doc for a prescription
hoping for ranitidine but they gave me a cheap altenative to gaviscon liquid. but i cant take anything like that in liquid form, it makes me vomit so bad.

so i phoned again and asked for tablets, specifically asked for ranitidine. she said 'oh you can get gaviscon tablets' I didn't know this so i said great, no need for a prescription as im happy to buy them.

unfortunately i didnt realise you had to chew them!!! yuk!! i just want something to swallow that i dont taste lol.

iv gave up now and just bought some zantac in the shops.

its worked well so far.

good luck for your birth xx

Thank you! I'll go find some Zantac. I asked a pharmacist and he said he wouldn't give me renatadine. I'll send DH to get it!

Tesco do their own version of Zantac and it’s only £1.50 and works exactly the same and also has the same ingredients. It’s really saved my bacon!

Try Apple cider vinegar in water
