Kefir in pregnancy?

Hi everyone,

I’m early on in my 1st trimester and drink (non-dairy) kefir for gut health.

I’m confused as to whether I need to cut this out or if the fact it’s non-dairy means pasteurisation is less important?

Just wondered if anyone had any more of an idea than I do 😂

Thanks so much in advance 😊

I have drunk kefir regularly (at least a few times a week) throughout pregnancy (now 29 weeks). I credit it 100% with keeping me regular when many suffer from bad constipation!

Ps I was drinking dairy kefir but it’s the same difference really, probiotics are safe to have throughout pregnancy.

fine as long as it's made from pasteurised milk
