Hello,
First post here I really need some advice. I'm only 6 w 1d and have had terrible nausea for the last 5 days which has been getting progressively worse. I haven't vomited yet (although I am terrified of doing so and have a phobia of vomiting- i have been wretching alot). I have had to tell my boss about my situation (no choice) and have been off work for the last few days. All I've been able to eat is some dry toast, biscuits and small dry jacket potato. Everytime I sit or stand up I am overwhelmed by waves of nausea and dizziness- I have pretty much spent the last few days curled up in bed trying not to move. This is my first pregnancy so I don't have prior experience but don't know how I can carry on like this I am just unable to function as a human at the moment. Should I go and see a doctor? (Even the thought of doing that sounds impossible) or are there other things I should try first? i have been wearing acupressure bands and just bought some b6 and magnesium tablets to try. Any advice appreciated thank you

Fellow sufferer here!
Go and see a doctor. I’m nearly 10 weeks and have been on medication for over 4 weeks now. It’s hideous but I think (hopefully) I am over the worst.
There is things your GP can prescribe - don’t suffer in silence.

I’m in the same boat!
I’m 6wks and 4 days, and the nausea started Sunday. I’ve just had a work trip to Berlin and spent the whole 2 days thinking I was about to throw up on the conference table.
This is my 3rd pregnancy, my last ended in mc at 6wks so as much as I hate the nausea I’m weirdly grateful for it as I didn’t have it last time and it was likely a sign things weren’t right.
With my 1st pregnancy, the nausea was totally gone by 12weeks, so I’m holding on to that.
I’d also say try to time roughly when it comes - I get it early morning for a few hours, then early evening.
Trying to plan meals and stuff around avoid those times.
Dry carby foods, without much smell or texture, seem to work best so graze in those.
I also find fizzy drinks (which I usually hate) seem to help.
Doctors do give tablets for it but I’ve heard mixed things, my friend was given tablets that got rid of the nausea but had other side effects.
If you haven’t actually vomited within the next week or so, you’ll probably find you won’t get vomiting- just the nausea (which is worse in someways, but slightly more practical!!)

I'm almost 7 weeks & struggling too. I have an 11 month old so can't rest much. I saw GP yesterday & was prescribed Cyclizine. Took it today but feel worst I've even been so unsure to continue them?

Otherwise, I'm eating every 10 mins or so with cream crackers, crisps, biscuits, cereal bars & fruit. Haven't had the energy for a proper meal today Sad

I feel your pain. I’m 8wks1d and have been suffering since 6wks. Feel like I’ve had it for a lot longer. I’ve been sick a couple of times, I heave a lot but the nausea is constant. Unfortunately it’s got worse since Monday. My OH is amazing though as at the moment I can barely move. I had a miscarriage last year and so don’t want to feel like I’m moaning all the time. Tonight I tried sucking on an ice lolly as I’d read that helps. For about half hour it worked wonders and was a nice change from dry, plain food. See if that helps you x

I found keeping my blood sugar stable by eating a dry biscuit every hour helped

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who replied! I did go and see my doctor in the end and have ended up on some anti emetics and looking into some complementary therapy for my emetophobia and nausea. If anyone else out there is struggling please go and seek help. I have been completely floored by this pregnancy and it has come as a total shock (not the pregnancy but how much the nausea and fatigue has effected me!) hopefully will get to the other side of this particular tunnel soon...

Thank you for coming back and updating - you've given me the courage to go to the doctors tomorrow, assumed I wouldn't be taken seriously but giving it a go now!

Update on me: I continued with the Cyclizine & feel better most of the time. Still eating snacks regularly & keep hydrated. The tiredness is a killer though, trying to get naps in wherever I can. Up late tonight but usually in bed by 9pm. I'm hoping I feel better in the next trimester like I did with DS
