31 weeks - lower stomach cramps?

Hi all

Am 31 weeks; last couple of hours have had dull cramps in lower abdomen, much like period pain.

Baby moving fine, also have lower back pain but that's usual now - only hurts when I walk.

Should I be concerned? Or is it just things shifting about?

I would call your maternity unit, if there is a risk of early labour they’ll want to give steroids and maybe try and slow things down.

Are the cramps at regular intervals? Any jelly like discharge?

No discharge, they stayed for about a couple of hours and went; now feeling very achy everywhere. Will see what progresses through the night; my midwives aren't about except mon - fri 9-5 and hospital is similar hours for calls!

I hope you’re feeling better today. If not, it’s the labour/delivery ward you need to call (they call it the maternity assessment unit or similar here) there will always be someone who can help or point you in the right direction.

I would try and be seen, might be something like a UTI.

Thanks all. Nothing so far today, but some this evening. I think it's maybe things shimmying about down there; last night did go on for a long time though!!

Awe I hope all is ok. As you say, it may just be everything moving down and getting into position.

If you're concerned in anyway at all though then it is always best to seek medical advice, either ring the maternity ward or if you do feel like is ok then ring your midwife in the morning.

Fingers crossed all ok.

Please let us know how you get on 💐💐💐
