Just need a whinge. Had a uti for 2 weeks. Antibiotics for a week, didnt clear it up midwife wanted stronger ones doctors wouldn't prescribe till he got my urine sample back from lab. Now been 5 days. I've increasingly got worse, now got fever and chills excessive sweating. My legs ache. Constant nausea and sick after anything I eat luckily managing fluids in small doses. Can hardly pee a drop now. Bladder hurts so much. Rang 111, 4 times, today they keep saying go down to pharmacy pick up prescription for the stronger antibiotics.. It's not there each time I go so have to call 111 back everytime. Its now shut (chemist) so now gotta wait for a phone call from out of hours docs, that was over 2 hrs ago. Hospital for out of hours appointments is about an 1 hr1/2 away so don't want to get sent up there this time of night especially with DD and I've been sick again and got chills. Just so fed up. Could wait till tomorrow to ring my docs but knowing how they are he will probably make me wait again for antibiotics. I just feel like im getting worse and worse and no one's taking it seriously. I am 36 weeks and just coming to the end in general of being a big lump and then feeling so ill on top is just making me want to crawl into a hole 😔

Can you ring triage/delivery suite? I've rang them for UTIs since 24 weeks.. had 7 during pregnancy so far.

They should have a doctor there who can prescribe you antibiotics, does mean you'll have to go to the hospital though x

Yep already rang twice over past few days, they said I'd have to go to my own doctor or ring out of hours and get seen. Not ideal 😭

You have my sympathies. I'm 35 weeks and having uti dramas myself. Surely you need to be checked for kidney infection at this point?? Any pain in your flank?

Keep ringing triage tell them this feels like an emergency (you have a fever and can't keep food down!!!). You may need iv antibiotics.

Jellybean100 · 03/02/2019 19:17

How many weeks are you? Triage/delivery suite would want to see you if you have a fever and flu like symptoms as can lead to sepsis. But in my area they don’t see people below 20 weeks

36 weeks! Rang delivery on Thurs and Fri and they just said go back to docs or get seen at out of hours. 111 still hasn't called back, so I give up obviously not getting any antibiotics tonight ill have to push for them tomorrow. I am worried its spread up to my kidneys or set off early labour. I ache all around my pelvis area, been sick again after trying to eat food all my fluid come back up again so now chugging water down like no tomorrow to try and get some in me. I never knew utis could feel this bad

Have you heard back now? If not, could you call back 111 and say you’ve got worse? It sounds like it might be a kidney infection and my (non-pregnant) friend had one a few years ago when we were housemates and she got so ill. Seeing that makes me not want to mess around with anything that could be a kidney infection, or have the potential to turn into one.

They called back at 4am, 12 hours after the last phone call. Said same thing they'd write a prescription out and get it sent over which they said 4 times yesterday and each time it was never at the pharmacy. i said I may as well just wait and see my doctor this morning now as I needed them ideally yesterday as wanted to get at least 1 or 2 doses in. Hopefully will get sorted this morn and be on the mend soon
