Smudge in Pregnancy Test

Hi ladies,

Did a pregnancy test today - period due next week sometime but eager to see if there is a chance I could be pregnant. So I could be testing early

Got the control line up and now a pink smudge next to where the positive would be ...

Anyone gone through this and it turned out to either be faulty or positive ? Or just nothing ?

Looks like a defective test can be relied upon I would do another one

Looks like a dye run - sometimes the cheaper tests can do this in my experience.

It's early for anything other than a sensitive test (FRER or similar) anyway isn't it? Get hold of one of those and have another go, hope you get the result you hope for but that one just needs to go in the bin I think

Looks like it's flooded and the dye has run.
Always dip the test into the wee (In a plastic cup) instead of trying to wee on it in my opionion.

Looks like dye run. Happened to me with a cheap test once and it looked positive when it was in fact negative- caused a huge amount of worry at the time! Also a week before period is due is far too early to test.
