Breasts in early pregnancy

Hello!

I’m 6w+2days (very early) I’ve had to have an early scan through the hospital and another due on Monday. But oh my goodness my boobs! This is the one thing that gave it away for me and made me do a test! They are so painful I have to wear a bra to bed, they have ballooned and I literally cannot explain how sore they are!

Anyone else experience the pain :(

Snap!

Don't even need to do a pregnancy test. All three pregnancies it's been the absolute first sign. For me it does gradually get better im currently at 7.5 weeks and they still throb. I used to think it's because they're so small, but I now know everyone suffers the same!

However, this is no pain in comparison to how they feel the day your milk comes in post birth. Be prepared 😩

First pregnancy YES!!! Lasted until about 16/20 weeks. This pregnancy not as much. I've just bought a new bra from a company called Molke, it's sooooo comfy and has no wires etc. Would highly recommend Grin

Yakadee · 24/01/2019 09:59

Yes, with both pregnancies - it was my first sign like you.

It is very painful isn't it. It latest for several weeks for me, can't exactly remember how many but maybe around 12 x

GWat06 · 24/01/2019 10:03

Oh gosh! I’ve got a fair while until it hopefully eases then! It’s horrendous I’ve never known anything like it!

And nice to hear about the milk part hahahaha I’ve got that to look forward to then! I don’t know how they can get more painful than they are now so definitely not looking forward to that! X

Crop top style bras are your friend, I'm also in first trimester and have embraced the non wired bras for comfort!

Porridgeprincess · 24/01/2019 10:15

Oh my god, yes. I had this from about 4 weeks and it was what made me test. I actually used to sleep with a very very soft pillow around them as if my partner touched off them, or if i moved in my sleep and touched off them, I would nearly cry.

Crop top bras, or h&m have vests with in built support in them, perfect for sleeping til it passes. I am 15 weeks now almost and it has passed in the last few weeks, or not been at the fore of my mind so they must be less sensitive.

Megan2018 · 24/01/2019 10:18

Mine were sore but not that bad - my nipples changed shape really quickly at about 4 weeks. Now they are just slightly tender like with PMT (am 6+4).

Grown but not huge so still in existing bras for now.

boodles101 · 24/01/2019 10:49

I didn't have sore boobs in my first pregnancy, they didn't really get any bigger til right at then end, much to my disappointment.
However this time, I woke up at 6dpo with sore boobs all up under my armpit and they have got bigger/fuller (after losing what little I had to bf!) Although they aren't horrendously sore every day, I do get some moments where I can really feel them and they actually feel full of milk/slightly engorged. I'm loving the increased bust!

emma911030 · 24/01/2019 11:18

Yes!! I was coming up to a few days late but sometimes my periods were a bit funny anyway so I didn't do a test thinking it will come tomorrow blah blah blah, the main reason I did a test was because my boobs were so freaking sore, I couldn't lay on my front, they were sore to touch, I'm normally pretty ruthless in the shower and just have a good old scrub down (which was never really that hard cause I didn't really have boobs never have done (I was 26 at the time)) but I had to take time to wash them really slowly and gently cause they were so bloody painful!! Luckily they no longer are, but just a bit bigger than they were before (now 35+6) I literally do not miss the pain from my boobs!!

Buddytheelf85 · 24/01/2019 11:22

Omg yes, you have my absolute sympathy you poor thing. I’m nearly 15 weeks now and it has improved massively but between about 4-11 weeks even vigorous walking hurt, particularly up or down hill. And running was right out!!

Celebelly · 24/01/2019 11:24

My boobs grew so rapidly in first trimester they got covered in stretch marks Sad They went back down again but are now getting bigger (38 weeks). They were super sensitive - I had to hold them going up and down stairs! DP was in awe at the size of them for those few weeks Grin and slightly scared I think.

Hannahamyrt · 24/01/2019 21:25

I just got my BFP today! My app seems to think I’m 6 weeks and 2 days. I wasn’t expecting it at all as I have irregular periods. But my boyfriend was convinced I was pregnant because of my boobs too! Sore and feel swollen!

minniecat2406 · 24/01/2019 21:30

I had this - excruciating. It stopped overnight at about 12 weeks; im now 31 and it hasn't come back thankfully. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
