Hi ladies so I’m in my first trimester and today o have woke up with a whopping cold sore on my lip. Can this been dangerous? Also does anyone know what I can yee to treat it. Normally I would use aciclovir tablets as cream seems to make me worse.

I occasionally get them, the pharmacy will be able to give you some treatment and try not to worry just practice good hygiene.

It’s a while off yet but make sure you have some treatment cream in your hospital bag when the time comes. And if you do have a flair up or feelnone coming on talk to the midwives and be careful around baby

Minisunshine thanks for the advice. I’ve been out and got myself some cold sore lip patches to hopefully prevent it from spreading x

For some reason I've had loads this pregnancy. Midwife said I'm probably just run down, but it's fine and I should just use the aciclovir cream as usual- I didn't ask about tablets though.
