Spring babies - what tog sleeping bag?

Hello all! :)

My babies due in April/May time, and I was wondering what tog sleeping bag to buy?

If he's quite small in the beginning, I may use a blanket until I know it's completely safe, so for example, we may not use it until June time? Would you say 1 tog or 2.5?

Many thanks :)

Also.... any tips where to buy them from? Anywhere inexpensive with good quality? :)

I would say 1 tog - my May-born baby is in 2.5 tog now in winter. Having said that, I wouldn’t bother buying one until they need it and fit into it (people are often selling them second hand too) and last summer was far too hot for anything more than a vest (if that)

It’s worth looking into the babasac. It’s a dual tog sleeping bag. It has zip out panels that make it 1tog/2.5tog depending on whether you have the panels on or off. Admittedly not the cheapest but it covers all bases. Wished I discovered them sooner with my DD

I'd get a 1 tog and you can also get a 0.5 tog for when it's a bit hotter. I'd wait until the baby is here to buy it though - in my NCT group (of 8) 3 of us had babies that were 5 / 6 months before they would sleep without being swaddled, in which case you won't need any 0 to 6 month bags.
