Hi Ladies,

I am after some hand holding/experience please.

Had our 20 week scan yesterday, all fine apart from baby girl has ''short'' femur bones. Basically they were measured at 28.1 mm so 2 weeks behind and on the 3rd centile. All other measurements are also under the 50th so looking like a small baby compared to my first boy who was 95th centile all the way through then born at 38 weeks 8lb 10.

I am waiting to hear back from the Consultant and the follow up scan/appt but the Sonographer mentioned being tested further(was all a bit of a blur)

I couldn't help but google and although not all negative there are some scary stories! I am so upset by this, I went into the scan not ever expecting anything to be wrong :-( I also have an anterior placenta and bmi of 27 so the scan wasn't the clearest not to mention baby was facing down so she couldn't get a clear image of the heart valves?! I am worried sick!

@Yorkiee oh I know tell me about it I think I've been on every femur related thread on google never mind mumsnet. It's having weeks at a time between scans it just makes you ill with worry and I really feel for anyone going through it 😩 x

Hi all just wanted to update! After all the worrying my baby boy was born 19th July at 31w + 4 because I had a placental abruption. Turns out my placenta was never working as it should of been (even though every scan it was checked and always said to be fine) so my boys arms and legs measured small on their charts but absolutely healthy just small at 3lb 4! He's in NICU at the moment which is emotionally really tough but he's doing really well and progressing as he should. I am just so thankful that we were in the right place at the right time and my gorgeous boy is safe and well 💙 x
