Gender scan on Sunday

Got a gender scan booked on for Sunday. Anyone want to try take a guess before! This was 12w scan but I was 13w! Thanks 😀😀

If someone was holding a gun to my head I'd guess boy, but I think it's hard to say from those pics.

I know the pics weren't great! They had me doing all sorts coz baby did not want to co operate and let them get a hook scan or measurement. Thanks for the guesses. Xx

Those are all pictures of the baby’s head. Nobody can tell from those pics. Nice pictures though, congratulations!

Interesting that they use „gender scan“ rather than „sex scan“.

You are getting a scan to determine the sex of the foetus not the gender. The first is a biological fact which can be determined from a scan. The second a social construct which cannot. Really important that we do not lose sight of the distinction.

My bet is a female. Hope all goes well!

I agree but I bet they’d get far fewer customers calling it a sex scan..

I think you are right. Why is the UK ( assuming OP is having scan in UK) so prudish about the word sex.

An innocent post and you pick up that I used the word gender instead of sex...I used the word gender because when you book your scan it's called a gender scan!!
Somehow don't think people would be a prude for saying gender instead of sex since they definitely needed to have sex to get to this point where they would want a "gender" scan!

I deliberately used the word „they“ in my first post to make it clear that I was not directing my remarks at you personally - rather at the scanning service.

Okay sorry I took it the wrong way.
I now see what ur saying and yes why is it always called a gender scan I don't know!
The uk is gone to pc with things! X

I was waiting for someone to post about the whole gender Vs sex thing, I booked it as a gender scan, it's been called a gender scan for years, maybe in another few years when everyone's calling them sex scans it might roll off the tongue easier and everyone will be using it by default

It's at 4.30. No not my 1sr will be my 4th have 1 girl and 2 boys already so really don't have a preference either way...my youngest is 1 which is a boy so all my stuff if for boys but most things apart from clothes would be fine for boy or girl.
Oh never even noticed my name was on the pic! I'm pretty rubbish at tech stuff haha xx

Thankyou, good luck everyone! Mines in 2 hours Grin I will be happy with either as it was a miracle baby, I have a DS 11 months so one of each would be lovely but it took 9 years and 5 IVF cycles to get him and he is from donated eggs then I got pregnant naturally so will be made up either way

Oh wow that's such a lovely story! You will be so unbelievably happy that you have got pregnant so of course it doesn't matter either way as long as baby is healthy!
It would be nice to have one of each but as your son is so young would also be nice to have a brother that he would be close to growing up!
Let us know an update when you have been for your scan xx
