How did you feel after having a sweep?

So never posted on her before but I’m feeling a bit lost and fed up, I had a sweep done yesterday at about 4:30pm the midwife seemed to think it would be successful because it looked like things were happening on there own anyways. She said my cervix was very short, soft and already 3cm dilated, period like cramps started almost instantly (I know that’s normal) but gradually got more painful and the tightenings started last night I didn’t sleep at all because of the pain and was sure something was starting but by the morning the pains had stopped Confused I went for a long walk this morning and lost my mucus plug along with a little spotting (sorry if I’m over sharing) since then the pains have been completely random with a constant achy period like pain and a sharp pain down my left side of my tummy feels almost like trapped wind, my question is does this seem normal? Does it sound like early labour? Anyone else have this then progress into actual labour?

Is this your first? Sounds promising, 3cm at the sweep is good!! It’s frustrating but yes things can ramp up and you get excited / nervous thinking game on! Then it stops, labour can often start and stop especially with your first, you’ve lost your plug and period cramps are a good sign, my advice walk walk and walk some more, won’t be long I’m sure of it good luck!! Xx

This is my second my first was 5 weeks early so never had a sweep or got to this point of discomfort with him, once he was coming it was very obvious never these false alarms it’s very frustrating, thank you I’ll definitely be getting out and about to try and trigger something today
