Faint lines on pregnancy test

Hi.
I'm wondering if anyone can help me here.
I did a pregnancy test this morning and at a quick glance I assumed it was negative (only been off pill for two months) but at a closer look there is a very faint second line.
Has anyone else experienced this and gone on to find out they were pregnant?
I used a First response early detection test and I'm due on period tomorrow.
Have phoned doctors and they have said it more than likely is positive just very early but they won't bring me in for appointment for another 4 weeks and I'm desperate to know for sure!
Thanks in advance Smile

I’ve only been off the pill for two months and am now 4 weeks 6 days pregnant. First test was quite a faint line but was clearly there - and that was 2 days before I was due on. Wait a couple of days and the line will probably be more obvious. I have taken 9 tests so far!!! If in doubt - go for a clear blue digital test in a few days - that was when I really knew I was pregnant!

Ah ok, thank you. I've been reading up about evap lines and I'm just getting confused! The line is most definitely pink but just very faint and it's seems if it's an evap line it won't have any colour at all!

I will test again in a couple of days to be sure. I'm just so eager to find out! This could be my first pregnancy so I'm obviously very excited but don't want to get my hopes up over nothing.

Thanks I will try clear blue also Smile

I would think it's probably an early positive. I took first response tests in the months where I was ttc (and wasn't successful) in the day or two before period was due and they were always a clear negative. No hint of a line at all.
My positive result was a light pink line around 4 weeks pregnant.
Let us know how you get on!

Samantha11K · 04/01/2019 13:18

That's good to know. I used first response last month also and it was definitely a clear negative and this one is definitely different so that's what is making me think it could be a positive result.
My period is supposed to be due tomorrow but as I've only been off the pill two months and only had one period since coming off, I'm thinking it's a long shot that I'd be pregnant. If I am, I'm just very lucky I guess lol!
Thanks will update x 😊

Here’s my extremely faint first response positive, 2 days before period- now 18 weeks & 6 days :) - I did another a few days later and was a clear positive. hope this helps x

Definitely pregnant, mine was so faint pink it was barely noticeable - currently sat with newborn on my lap. I had to be 9 days late for my period before a clear blue read positive.

I was also second month off pill (after 10 year use)

Samantha11K · 04/01/2019 13:37

Oh wow so my test is pretty much the same as that picture! (Really trying not to get too excited)
Congratulations to you.
I'm trying to post a picture of the test but it won't let me as I've only opened this account today.

I have another couple of first response tests so going to try with those over the next few days then maybe with clear blue digital if still no period at some point next week.

Thanks again ladies

Fingers crossed for you then :D look forward to hearing how you get on.

And thank you :)

Seeleyboo · 04/01/2019 20:10

If it helps I've had fainter lines and negatives but always pregnant. Congrats OP

Samantha11K · 06/01/2019 09:52

Ok so I did another first response test today as still no period and it's pretty much the same as before. Clear blue said not pregnant but as a few of you have said, clear blue is not as reliable early on.
So now I have no idea lol 🙄

They are definitely positive! Clearblue aren't as sensitive, it'll probably take a few more days to get a positive on them. Congratulations!!!

Winona1 · 06/01/2019 10:08

Positive! Congrats xxx

GabbyGal · 06/01/2019 10:17

Looks positive to me! Congratulations! Flowers

Samantha11K · 06/01/2019 10:24

Aww thank you. Although I'm still not getting my hopes up until I have a very clear positive.
There's a chance I could be calculating everything wrong. The app I have is basing it on the fact my cycle is 28 days but it could be a bit longer. Been on the pill for years so I really don't know what's normal for me at the moment, especially seeing as I've only been off pill for two months.
Fingers crossed though 😊

Even a very faint line is a positive. False positives are extremely unlikely and the fact that you’ve done multiple tests should rule that out Smile

AM1994 · 06/01/2019 10:32

Definetly posistive! Congratulations :D x

mrsk28 · 07/01/2019 09:25

Definitely positive, just early. Try another clear blue digital a few days after missed period and congratulations!!

Samantha11K · 09/01/2019 09:28

Well that's a better positive! 😊

AM1994 · 09/01/2019 16:14

Congratulations ☺️☺️

I have faint blue lines on my Sainsbury's tests! Read a mix of reviews about these tests.
It's the first test I've ever taken and first pregnancy. So would love some advice on what people think. Positive or not?
