Persistent period cramps 35 weeks?

Hi,
Last night i begun with mild period cramps, almost like the feeling that i’m due to come on my period. I had a sleepless night but it lasted all night, accompanied by nausea on and off and lower back pain. It’s not unbearable, just uncomfortable and baby is moving fine. Everything i’ve googled is saying menstrual cramps should be on and off, not constant and hint at labour so should i be worried?

That’s exactly how my labour started at 35 weeks.
Sleeplessness. Cramps. Lower back pain (baby moving down). Nausea.
Call your midwife. Don’t take risks at 35 weeks. It’s not up to you to decide if it’s nothing or not. A midwife told me it was probably a bug and to wait an hour or two.
When I had to go into the hospital (see below re timing!) she was dressed down severely by a senior for being dismissive.
Also, time your “cramps”. It’s sounds far fetched but I didn’t realise mine were exactly every 5 mins until I timed them.

I needed an EMCS within 3 hours of getting to the hospital. Ds1 was in distress and had a dropped heart beat.
I was a low risk, textbook perfect pregnancy until then

I had this yesterday! I'm 34 weeks and woke up to awful lower back pain and then on and off period cramps. I almost went up the hospital but it eased by the evening and today there's nothing.
I assume it may be the baby engaging or at least lowering and putting pressure on my back. If it happens again this weekend then I think I'll go straight up the hospital as I know lower back pain can be a sign of pre-term labour. If yours doesn't ease off then I recommend you getting checked.

@notWORKzilla thanks for your advice. I don’t know how to time cramps when they’re constant though? They don’t come and go.

I found out that his head was engaged 1/5 at my 34 week midwife appointment so i know that he’s already engaged but haven’t had this discomfort before

I’d ring your midwife. Better safe than sorry.

Good luck @yorkymidge Have you spoken to anyone yet? X

Just to follow up @Yorkymidge, my pains came back today and I am currently in hospital with a UTI. It felt like one long period pain with lower back pain so please get checked if you haven't already.
