Hydrocortisone cream - worried!

I’m probably panicking more than I should, and this probably sounds strange but right now I probably need the reassurance! 6 weeks pregnant with first and DH has been using 1% Canesten hydrocortisone cream on his male member for eczema, shortly after - (he didn’t tell me ) we had sex! I’m so worried that it might cause some harm? I have read online that it is safe in pregnancy - am I over reacting ?

I didn't even know you could put Hydrocortisone on your dick, doesn't it thin the skin or something? I didn't know you could get eczema there either but why not I guess.

I imagine it would be fine, but I do think that if he is putting stuff on his penis and then putting his penis in you, he should let you know.

That is very weak steroid cream anyway. I really don't think you have anything to worry about at all.

I'm on super high dose oral steroids. Steroids are safe in pregnancy so a small amount of localised steroid cream won't be a problem x

Forgot to say I'm 38 weeks pregnant!

I was on high strength painkillers when I was 4 wks pregnant (didn't know at the time), all turned out just fine :-). You can always ask your GP for reassurance.

I was advised to use that cream for eczema in my groin too, and I was 8 weeks pregnant at the time. It'll be fine.

Thankyou for the replies, the reassurance really helps.. hopefully no harm done!
