Shooting whilst pregnant?

So I’ve been invited to go shooting with friends on Christmas Eve then all going for pub lunch. I love clay shooting and generally being outdoors and immediately said yes, but now I’m questioning if it is safe due to the noise.

This is a live shoot with around 4 - 6 guns. I only shoot clays and not birds, so i wouldn’t take part, but would like to be there. I’ll be 26 weeks pregnant. Google immediately tells you all the risks but I also think, pregnant women wouldn’t do anything if we looked at the risks all the time!

Just wondered what the general thought was and if it was a definite no from some people?
Thanks xx

I went shooting when I was 12 weeks pregnant and didn't even think about the fact that might not be ok.. i think if your not actually shooting you will be fine!

The fact that they are shooting live birds is what you should have a problem with 🤗

I read it was ok to shoot up until 24 weeks as that's when babies ears were developed enough to hear. I wanted to shoot clays but didn't as I was 28 weeks. Don't risk it you'll spend the rest of the pregnancy worrying. Just meet for the meal afterwards.

Rather that than an intensively farmed chicken

Enb76 she's shooting intensely farmed chicken? I can't say I've ever heard of that Christmas Eve tradition
