3.7mm nuchal translucency

Just had my 12 week scan and got a nuchal measurement of 3.7 (initially 4.something but she remeasured). Sonographer said everything else was fine (nasal bone present, no hygroma etc). I am seeing fetal medicine later this morning for more scanning.

Any thoughts? Hand holds? I am 41 and have some medical problems, my first 2 children are healthy.

Ours was 4.7mm- I’m 28, no history. We decided to have CVS Andy came back all clear. There are non invasive options like the blood test if you are worried... wishing you all the best xxxxxxxxxx

And not Andy

Ours was about the same but low risk with combined blood test. We paid for the private NIFTY test before making a decision to have CVS and that also came back as low risk but we were still with FMU until 20 weeks. Pleased to say that I am now 38 weeks and was given 'all clear' (well was put to 'normal' risks) back at 20 weeks. It is very stressful but if you have two healthy children already I am sure it will be fine!

Thank you both so much.

I'm just wondering about the shops waiting for the next appointment (DP is ill so we didn't want him to come and spread it around the hospital, so of all days I am on my own!). I will update.

We had a nuchal measurement of 4.1 mm at our 12 week scan, we opted to have the harmony test at the time as non invasive. All came back clear, we had an extra heart scan at 16 weeks too. I found ARC useful too at the time to discuss any concerns. Hope all goes well for you xx

Thank you Jessie.

My revised nuchal measurement is up to 4.8. The baby also had some abdominal fluid.

The doctor said there is a 30% chance if chromosomal abnormality, if not present then a 20% chance of structural problems such as heart defects.

I have a harmony test booked for tomorrow, but it us up to 7 working days for results.

Thanks again everyone for your thoughts. Trying to stay focussed and positive as much as possible.
