@welshmammy123 how do you put in two hot shots? DS likes his bottles warmer too so at the moment we’re microwaving them (tut tut Blush) so it would be ideal to be able to make them warmer.

Op- 100% yes- get one if you end up FF. we didn’t buy one until 3 months as was mostly breastfeeding until then, but has been worth its weight in gold since then!

I wish these had been around when my DT’s were babies, would have been a life saver.

WelshMammy123 · 01/12/2018 22:13

@Elpheba Hoping this'll make sense.

I give DD a 7oz feed and to make it hot we turn the machine to make a 4oz feed and press for the hot shot. I then add 7 scoops of formula to the bottle. Whilst I'm doing that I press the machine again so it dispenses the remainder of the 4oz bottle in to a cup. Then I switch the machine to 6ozs and press for the hot shot, then press again for the remainder of the water to be dispensed. So in total it makes a 7oz feed with two hot shots.

Hope that makes sense? So for an 8oz feed you'd have the machine on 4 initially and then on 7.

I always worry when I describe this that I've missed something fundamental but it seems to work and I first did it with DD1 and I was a lot less sleep deprived then!

Totally worth it. We keep ours in the bedroom, I would much rather walk up there in the day than down to the kitchen in the night.

ruthieruthuk · 01/12/2018 23:14

Yes it's been a godsend for us! Wouldn't be without it!

Making feeds day and night in a matter of minutes!

If you don't want to pay full price lots of pre loved ones out there, try Facebook marketplace, gumtree and eBay!

Seafoodeatit · 01/12/2018 23:17

We found it really useful, if you're formula feeding it's very helpful. I'm getting the new version if I can't manage breastfeeding again and the new version has an option to turn the beeping off hooray as that was my main gripe with the old one.

Leonie87 · 01/12/2018 23:54

Yup absolute godsend here too! Health visitors and midwives were always going to find a reason to grouse about it. Pay them no heed.

User1983 · 02/12/2018 00:04

Yes, yes and yes. Best item we bought.

Elpheba · 02/12/2018 02:40

Thanks @welshmammy123 I’ll give that a go later today!

DeltaFlyer · 02/12/2018 03:10

Love my perfect prep machine.
We replicate it for out and about by using 2 flasks so we always have a fresh feed.
The health visitor doesn't like it but it works for us and ds is perfectly healthy

myotherbagisgucci · 02/12/2018 07:52

Yes yes yes! Best baby item we bought! DD1 is 11 months and we're still using it and will do again for DD2 when she arrives!

yesmelord · 02/12/2018 10:56

Hello! Sorry to butt in too but I'm looking into buying a prep machine for DD2,

What is the difference between the tommee tippee day and night machine and the tommee tippee closer to nature machine?

They look the same Confused

DeltaFlyer · 02/12/2018 11:55

The older one has a manual dial to change the bottle size and I think the new day and night one is digital and has a light on.
We bought the older one as it was cheaper and does the same job

They're not recommended by the DOH or Food Standards Agency as a safe way to make formula, as they don't follow the current guidelines on safe formula preparation. I personally wouldn't use one.

Overwhelmingly positive reviews. Thanks alot
