Waters broke at 32+2

My waters broke 2 days ago, went to the maternity ward and had it confirmed. Had to have 2 lot of steroid injections 24 hours apart and also on antibiotics. Had bloods and obs over 2 days and I haven’t got any signs on infection so they have sent me home. Carrying on with my antibiotics and going back every other day for monitoring but they’ve said they want to keep baby in for as long as possible, they’re going to induce at 37 weeks if she hasn’t decided to make an appearance before. Anyone with helpful advice or been in a similar situation? They’ve told me to keep an eye on waters if they change colour or if I have a fever I’m to go straight back but I’m feeling great in myself.

Hi @Ellielou x Different (but similar)- I'm 32+4 - They admitted me 2 ways ago for heavy bleed (placenta pravia) -having the same injections as you and they're checking cervix and signs of labour (have posted on another thread)-
Looks like they might be keeping me in (again, same as you they want to try and get as close to 37 weeks as poss for c-section)- just wanted to send you a hug really xx (those injections a bit of a stinger hey!? Got my second this morning and they did it at top of my thigh, still achy!) Anyway, bigger things xx

hi ellie, I've had 2 x 32 week babies, both starting off with my waters breaking. Good luck, & do make sure you have yr hospital bag packed just in case. I was admitted with both of mine, but I ended up with an infection, complications with available treatments & so babies born by c/s after 3 or 4 days waiting. Wee babies, 4 lbs or so, but otherwise well, just kicked out too soon. Good luck, ask lots of questions & I hope your little miss stays put for at least a few more weeks :)

Seconding advice to make sure you’ve got a hospital bag packed.

My waters broke at 33 weeks with DS1, I was also told that they would wait until 37 weeks to induce labour, but I ended up going into spontaneous labour a week later.

Hope it goes well for you

(As someone who was 'planning' putting hospital bag together last week, and stupidly didn't bother, I totally agree with above PP!) -
Bless my DH for trying to rearrange the world outside, look after kids, get to hospital plus rustling together washbag/change of clothes etc and getting it here-

A long time ago now but my waters went in the morning at 32 weeks and my baby was born that evening.Spent 5 and a half weeks in special care.
Keep counting the kicks and go in if you are concerned at all.

My waters broke at 32 weeks and I ended up giving birth at 32+5.

Have a bag packed and take it easy.

Happened to me but slightly earlier on. I had twice weekly scans, swabs and blood tests. DS arrived at almost 35 weeks. Due to steroids etc he was fine after a few days in special care. Now 11 and as tall as me! I was told to take my temp twice a day and if it rose, go in to be checked as it could be a sign of infection. Take it easy and if you are at all concerned, go in.
