As it stands,
I'm roughly about 5 weeks pregnant,
I have all early pregnancy symptoms nausea, vomiting, tiredness, tender fuller boobs, tummy rounding and firming, food aversions etc...
But only problem is it's not showing up on pregnancy tests,
Now I know I have a retroverted uterus,
And I haven't had no period just slight bleeding and spotting,
Am I the only one this is happening to???
My two previous pregnancies were different,
But this one my tummy is a little bit bigger for so early on in the pregnancy amongst a few other things,
Has this happened to anyone else????
Because I know I'm pregnant,
But I'm just concerned because the doctor will think I'm crazy when I challenge her on it....

Any advice welcome

Generally speaking, if the pregnancy is not showing up on pregnancy tests and a doctor hasn’t confirmed it, you are not pregnant.

As frustrating as it seems you may have to wait another week or two for the tests to catch up with your intuition and body telling you you are. My friend took approx 7 tests showing as negative to find out on the 8th one she was pregnant

She kept taking the tests as she was convinced!

You can get false negs, esp early on. Was it an early test kit? Might be v low hcg

Well as I've been told by quite a few people the fact I've a retroverted uterus pregnancy is harder to detect,
And I've heard of some cases where some women don't get a positive pregnancy test until about 18 or 19weeks,
And I've heard about some women getting negative results but only finding out they're pregnant when they got an ultrasound done of their tummy

What!!?? Where have you been getting this info from? Dr Google by any chance? The only thing thats certain is a pregnancy has to produce hcg or there's no growing foetus going on. It doesn't matter what shape or style or uterus. Your pregnancy is connected via a blood supply, supported by hormones therefore detectable in your wee. Pregnant women wee hcg and it can be detected early with early detector stix. As for the quality and accuracy I can't comment, but there should be printed thresholds. Some have higher levels than others early on so easier to detect. Many pregnancy signs are also the signs of pre menstruation, like swollen tender boobs/nipples. What might show lower hcg is ectopic, but check that if you are convinced of your pregnancy. The spotting can be implantation.

If you're not getting a positive pregnancy test, there is no guarantee you are pregnant. In fact, the chances of being pregnant if you're getting a negative pregnancy test a week after missing your period are less than 1-2%.

HCG starts being produced as soon as you become pregnant and should be detectable in your urine. The shape of your uterus has nothing to do with it - a baby could not grow without it.

Your GP can do a blood test to check for HCG. Quite rarely people might not be getting enough in their urine (but at 5 weeks this is almost unheard of). If it doesn't show on a blood test, then you are not pregnant.

I'd see your GP if I were you.

Best of luck x

A retroverted uterus only makes a difference during scans. It does not have any affect on the level of pregnancy hormone in your blood or urine.

What tests are you using? If you are around 5 weeks pregnant, then ANY test should show a positive result. For confirmation though, I would use a FRER and see what that says. They’re the most accurate and sensitive on the market right now.

I'm 10weeks pregnant new to the site, from 6 weeks I've felt like my body has been taken over the sickness was that bad I have bands and tablets and short of energy all the time n my mood flips from minute to minute, I've been reassured that it will get better but I sympathise fully with how you are feeling Smile

I’m sorry to say but I think it’s very unlikely that you are pregnant so please don’t get your hopes up.
