Hi there I'm 35 weeks and have been suffering with PEP for over a week. I've been prescribed pirition and been told to
Use calamine lotion ( which I was doing anyway!) I have oat baths on the regular but
I really am truly fed up of being pregnant now!!!
It's literally covered every part of my body apart from my face!!
I asked what the likelihood of being induced early was- consultant told me none!!
Anyone else suffered from it? Any advice?

Yes. I suffered badly.

You need steroid cream. That's the only thing that works. Don't worry, it leant affect the baby.

In the mean time to smooth the itch (because scratching makes it worse) get a cold wet flannel or muslin (in the summer I added icebubes as well) and put it on the itchy sections for instant relief.

It won't go away with Piriton and Calamine lotion I'm afraid.

Not leant

Yes, I suffered with it, it was awful.

Nothing really worked for me to be honest, I just had to manage the symptoms until it resolved.

Cool baths help, I found that cold most spray quite soothing and slathering on E45 cream by the bucket load.

You have my utmost sympathy, it was really horrible. I also found that no-one really took how uncomfortable I was seriously because it wasn't caused by anything "serious" or "dangerous". I hope it resolves quickly for you.

@RememberWhenRibenaTastedNice I asked the dr for steroids- the consultant said no... so I bought myself a tube of hydrocortisone from boots today!

I definitely feel no one takes this seriously because it's not harmful. It's making me hate being pregnant.

Thank you for your advice, glad to know I'm not overreacting and others understand what I'm going through x
