Blood pressure, is this too high?

Hi all,

I'm 18+4 with my first baby. I went and saw my midwife today to follow up from my 16 week appointment (discuss how my anxiety was doing) and whilst there she took my BP. It was 129/84. At my 16 week appointment two weeks ago it was 115/77!

To be fair, it is baking hot today (in October!) and I had to walk for 25 minutes and go up a hill to get to the clinic, so by the time I saw the midwife I was pretty thirsty. I'm 22 and of a normal BMI.

But 129/84 sounds a little high to me? My midwife didn't mention it at all though, so I assume she isn't worried.

Probably me worrying over nothing again... Grin

Isn't 120/80 accepted as a fairly average from my experience? A quick google suggests that it might be slightly elevated but I wouldn't be too concerned.

Speak to your midwife if you have any concerns though.

Yeah, apparently 140/90 is considered hypertension so I'm not in that range. It was 121/82 at my booking appointment so it's not actually changed that much. But it was 115/77 two weeks ago!
