taking DC along to scan?

Would love some input on this - has anyone taken their DC to a scan? I have my 20 wk scan tomorrow, my regular babysitter had to cancel and I so far have not been able to find someone else. So I am thinking I may have to bring DD along. She is 4 and I am not so much worried that she will misbehave as I am concerned she might find the scan scary. Any thoughts? DH will be there too.

Yes I was in a bit of dilemma, my DSS is staying with us for a week when I go for my 20 week scan, which means DH can't come if DSS can't. I wasn't keen at first just in case there was a problem, but one of my friends who has recently had a scan said she was took in on her own first while they did all the measurements, and only when they finished doing that did they let her DH in. So I guess if (heaven forbid!) there was a problem, I'll have the opportunity to veto him coming in if there is a problem. We'll just have to stress to him that we hope he'll be able to come in and see, but he may not be allowed to. I check with the hospital and they said they're fine with children as long as they are reasonably well behaved and are okay with keeping quiet while the sonographer is working.
