1st pregnancy - 17 weeks + 4 days.

Between scans and midwife appointments I cannot help but worry! I cannot feel any movements, the only pregnancy symptoms i’m having is headache and back ache! I cannot help but think the worst even when I have no reason too! It’s driving me mad and seeing it’s loss awareness month it’s all over Facebook and it’s realky not helping!

No line on my belly (most people have this by now - can’t remember the proper name)
Not really got a bump, when I prod about different places of my belly one part will be hard (assuming that’s where the baby is) and the rest is soft and squishy!

I don’t know what to do but I don’t want to waste the midwifes time because I have no physical reason to see her; no pain, no bleeding.
I think it’s just my brain going into overdrive!
My next scan isn’t until 25th Oct and I don’t see the midwife till 2nd Nov.
Any tips before I start going mad! Do i mention it to the midwife or just deal with it?!

Movements at 22 weeks for me and the line only appeared today at 34+2.

@DannyWallace i’m feeling the odd movement, but literally 1 or 2 flicks every few days. So it’s driving me mad😂 scans next Friday, and i’ve heard the heartbeat a few times since posting so i’m certain everything’s ok! Bumps started developing nicely and going firmer rather than flabby😂

Hi OP! I never had a bump until at least 21 weeks and even then it was very small! Movement, I never felt until around 26/27 and I will be 40 weeks tomorrow and still no line! I’ve had a happy and healthy pregnancy so please try not to worry about these things. As I think it’s been advised you can always pay for a private scan if you are worried - but I think everything you are experiencing is completely normal Smile

@Firsttimetobe2019 yup! You sound just like me.
I also found out today that my placenta is anterior, so while I'm delighted I'm feeling something, it could be another few weeks until I get proper kicks.
I was soooo close to booking a scan at about 18 weeks as I was just so desperate for some reassurance.
Just keep focusing on doing what you can just now....the scan will come around in no time ❤️xxx

@Milesy351

"Hi OP! I never had a bump until at least 21 weeks"

Ah had forgotten that yeah 20 or 22 weeks I finally looked pregnant instead of looking like I'd just had too many puddings.

I’m 31+5 and I’m still the same! It was sooo much worse before I reached the 20-24 week mark as like you, I couldn’t feel any movement. And I was constantly worrying and made myself really stressed over it. But once you start to feel movement for me anyway it felt like abit of reassurance.

You should mention it to midwife. Good luck I’m sure everything will be fine xx

YAY! I’ve finally got movement! Late Last night and this morning i’ve been feeling all her little kicks! Although while feeling this I’ve felt like my stomach is being stretched and my bladder is being squished along with very uncomfortable back pain’ but oh well it’s all worth it! Thankful she’s making her presence known!
