Morning all!

I woke up at 4am feeling ravenous and a bit sick and crampy. I still feel like that but have just noticed a small amount of pale red blood when I wipe! I dont think my waters have gone but I feel 'wetter' down there. Is this a precursor to labour?!

I shouldn't be worried about the blood, right? No reason to call triage yet? It was only a little bit... Just gave me a shock as it's the first blood I've seen since last December!

Is it mucus like or fresh blood? If it continues, it's best to get it checked. I had slight bleeding at 38 weeks with my first. Phoned and they told me to go in. They thought I had a slight placental abduction. Then I started having contractions so they made me stay in to keep an eye on me. The Labour was absolutely fine and uneventful with no further bleeding but they wouldn't let me have the home birth of planned. I had my boy later the same day. So like I said. If it continues, I'd get it checked. Either way, it coukd be the start of labour!

Many thanks. Not mucus like at all - pale red so I suppose fresh... but only a few spots when I wiped a few times and none since! When I googled it it sounded fairly normal for 39 weeks so I didn't call triage... I've had period pains on and off all day but nothing has ramped up yet!
Your message has made me decide if I see blood again I will call triage just to be on the safe side though so thank you!
