What does a faint line means?

Hi :).

I took at pregnancy test on Monday, left it for a minute, assumed nothing would come up and threw it in my handbag. Went back and looked at it last night and there was a faint pink line. Went and got another pregnancy test last night and it was negative? Any ideas?

Pink would normally mean it's positive. But there are evaporation lines depending on how long it was left in your handbag before you looked at it. Thats why you normally have to check within 5 minutes and throw away.
It could also be that you didn't leave the urine long enough, that's why most tests ask for your first wee of the dat to give your HCG Levels chance to concentrate in the urine.

Usually the test instructions say to ignore any result after the testing time (around 5 mins).

However there's a possibility you have a very tiny amount of HCG pregnancy hormone on your urine. Which could mean it's very early in pregnancy. However non pregnant women can also have HCG in their urine in low amounts.

On a blood test anything up to an HCG number of 7 is classed as not pregnant. (I may be incorrect on that number 7? But there is a number)
