Is it me or is having a cold so much more shit than when not pregnant. I genuinely thought I was going to pass out on the shop the other other day.

Other than paracetamol is there even anything I can take for it? I heard lemsip is a no go.

Don’t really want to take a day off. I’ve already had too many days off this pregnancy :(

Yep had one at the start of August, felt shocking! I kept drinking hot water with honey and lemon seemed to help a little and plenty of rest

Yeah I had tonsillitis followed by a cold a week later when I quite early on in this pregnancy. It was awful, I’d never felt so ill, was laid up in bed for most of it whereas I’m usually quite robust.

You have my sympathies op, hope you get well soon Flowers

Yeah, it sucks!! I guess our resources are somewhat diverted... so it seems paracetamol is ok, as are most cough medicines (but check - you know your own risks). Vicks helps decongest, and tonnes and tonnes of water seems to be helping. And yeah, irritatingly, rest. I'm self-employed, so time off work for me is extra painful (no sick pay), but kinda seem to have no choice... Very keen to hear anyone else's cold cures!!

Hope you feel better soon.

I had a bad cold at the start of August and had to take two days off work sick which I think might be the first sick days I’ve taken since working where I do now so I don’t do so lightly but felt so wiped out.

Feel like I’ve had colds ever since but now wondering whther it is pregnancy rhinitis

I’ve just been drinking hot water (I don’t drink tea or coffee), I find a hot shower helps and I have some olbas oil bubble bath (from when we had a bath, which we don’t know) which helps s bit

I'm 9 weeks and have cold, I've had one for a week or so now and I am feeling really crap about it. I'm tired, feel nauseous and then a cold on top is just the icing on the cake! So I can totally understand where you're coming from! Definitely need to take some time off from work but not sure where I am going to pluck the extra day holidays from!
