Could I be pregnant?

I'm going out of my mind and looking for some advice if possible please. Me and my partner slept together from the 1st August to the 11th August multiple times. He left for army training on the 11th. I was supposed to start my period about the 20th nothing happens but I started to have bloody discharge on the 27th this continued all week didn't get heavier or darker like a normal period hasn't had any tummy pains either. I've had the same bloody discharge all of this week too apart from the 7th September it was a little heavier and darker and I had to take some painkillers but yesterday and today it's just bloody discharge again. I did a pregnancy test on the 6th and it was negative. Was it too early to test? Is there something else wrong? I'm really worried and don't want to alert the doctors just yet incase there is no need to. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Thank you for any advice you can provide x

Nearly a month after last unprotected sex is very much NOT too early to test! It's unlikely you're pregnant. Take another test and then I'd probably phone the gp if things don't settle down in the next two weeks.

Many many gps have absolutely no clue about women's health and would probably tell you at this point that it's just one of those things and maybe, maybe suggest a smear test... and then send you on your merry way.

Thank you so much @physicskate you have been most helpful I will take another test if I'm still bleeding by Wednesday and see what it says. I took 6 tests with my son and they all said negative and he was baking away for 2 months before I even knew he was there! So it's got me worried that maybe I could be and it's just not showing. But when you Google all manner of things pop up that could be wrong and scared myself silly about it. If I'm still bleeding and it's negative on Wednesday I will go to the GP and see what they say it could be I haven't had a smear test for a while if I remember x

So I've just been to the loo again and this time the bloody discharge is thicker and more red but doesn't smell of anything usually you can smell period blood but it is odorless. I feel rather sick and drained but I have a 1 yr old to take care of on my own with little sleep so I've put it down to that. I feel rather worried :-(

What are you worried this is?

Jkrgjg · 09/09/2018 19:56

I don't know if I'm honest I've read it could be an STD but I know I was clean and my partner says he was clean too so I'm not sure what it could be. I'm slightly worried it could be implantation bleeding and it's just not showing up on a test. I've never experienced this before. Usually with my period it's light the first day heavy for 3 days and then might for a day or so and that's it. This has just been pinky brown discharge for a day off 2 weeks. That doesn't seem normal to me so it's making me worry a bit.

If you're worried, seems it's time to start things rolling with a gp. It's likely to 'just be one of those things' and a gp may fob you off... but then again you might find some reassurance. It seems like that's probably what the majority of their job entails... maybe try to see a gp with an interest in women's health?

Thank you very much for your advice it's most helpful. I will definitely make an appointment to see the GP hopefully I can see a female doctor.

Hi everyone

Just a quick question I have done 3 pregnancy tests 2 from Sainsbury’s and 1 clear blue (non digital) all showed positive after one hour when I looked again the lines were all dark blue but I’m not sure if I’m pregnant as I hear a lot about Evap lines 😫 helppppp

Lauraneedshelp12 · 10/09/2018 07:46

I would upload pics but I don’t know how lol

physicskate · 10/09/2018 09:10

Yup they were evaps. Don't trust a test outside the testing window (for many tests that's about 10 minutes, but read the instructions). Doesn't mean you aren't pregnant, just that it's too early to pick up if you are.

Good luck Laura!
