Good morning ladies,

I am 35 weeks pregnant and the past week I have been waking up with really stiff fingers across both hands. It’s painful to bend them but there doesn’t seem to be any major swelling. I did have to take my rings off a few weeks ago as they were getting a little tight. But I don’t think it’s enough to warrant this aching?

Anyone else suffered with similar?

Does it ease up as the day goes on? My fingers always swell a little over night and after being up a little while I can get my rings back on.

The fluid that accumulates in your lower body spreads out while you're lying down I think.

Yes I've had this, but I've also self diagnosed carpal tunnel (as I've had it before). Do you have any tingling or numbness with it?

Sounds like carpal tunnel

I had this- total pain in the arse, and my grip strength went to pot as well.

Gradually went back to normal after the birth- I’d say it totally went at about 8-10 weeks but had got much better in the few days after labour.

I had this with my last pregnancy. Midwife said it was carpal tunnel caused by fluid and it would go when I gave birth, which it did!
