Hi all just noticed last night I was struggling to sleep with itching the back of my hands and up my arms. This is the first time I’ve I’ve noticed it. Got to sleep and didn’t bother me the rest of the night and doesn’t seem to be too bad this morning. Just a mild itch every now and thn.
I did have bloods done last Thursday with gp for something else but wonderedbshould I be telling the midwife about this? Don’t want to bother them when I’m not sure if it was just a random thing. Wondering if I should wait to see if it continues a day or two but also aware of Cholestasis and want to make sure baby is ok! Any advice?

I would call your midwife.
The onset can be sudden so they will want to know regardless of last weeks blood tests. They can use those as a good base level reading if they were within he normal range.

Please call your MW.

No tell them asap. Choleastasis can be extremely dangerous. It's best to get it treated early.
I had it at 36 weeks and had to go in for ctg monitoring every other day until I was induced at 38 weeks. I also had extra scans to check blood flow and growth.

Do let them know. I had quite a mild itch with mine (but itchy palms which was odd), and my bile acid readings were quite high. This link says to contact your midwife even if your itching is mild: www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/itching-obstetric-cholestasis-pregnant/
My DS was fine!

Thanks all - have left message with midwife to call me back. Hopefully it’s nothing serious!
